"Your going to get caught." claimed my 'friend' Matt. Matt was always worrying about me. It was pathetic really; he followed me around like he was a lovesick puppy. Not only did he not have an ounce of courage, but he was SUCH a goodie- goodie. Urrg.... "I'm serious Veronica!"
"Oh, and what are you going to do about it?" I turned to face him and then batted my eyelashes.
"I.... I.... You...." he stuttered. I laughed cruelly and smiled at him. He pulled his wings into his shoulder blades as we walked through the gate, looking down at his feet.
"Poor Mattie..." I grabbed his chin and forced him to look me in the eye, scowling sourly. " Fuck off, before you get hurt..."
I looked down from the mountaintop; spreading my black wings as far as they would go. I felt all of my feathers ruffle in excitement, as I fell into the wind.
*****That night*****
"Hello there....." I whispered to myself and leaned forward over my coffee to get a better look at him. I was outside a quaint little cafe in the middle of town; trying to scoop out a sexy, yet nieve young male mortal. The men in my race (protectors, we were called); weren't nearly as satisfying as the touch of a mortal.
My kind were cold, cut off from the world, and without the animal- like passion that I craved.... So, once a week I came down off of our mountaintop to quench my thirst. But I only excepted the best; not anything or anyone less than that would do.
The man that came out of the alley was tall, muscular, tan, and mysterious. He was looking right and left as if to avoid anyone unpleasant; which made his long brown hair flip as he looked. His hair covered his eyes and cast a shadow across his angular face.
"Looking for someone?" I asked him, as I stretched out and crossed my long muscular legs on top of the table. He looked startled and whipped around to get a better look at me.
"Who are you?" he asked as his eyes widened and raised his right brow.
"I believe that is for me to know and for you to find out, don't you?" I smirked and started to move my long, wavy, dark black hair from one shoulder to the other. I tilted my head to the side and continued to look at him curiously.
"Why must you speak in riddles?"
"Why must you evade my questions?" I asked sourly. He was beginning to irritate me with the 'What do you want with me' act. I stood and placed myself right in front of him. "Now what is your name?"
"Dimitri." he replied, and tried to walk away from me. I placed a hand on his chest and looked up into his eyes, to find that they were a gorgeous bright green. I smiled and kissed him, slowly so that he had time to think. He froze in surprise, I smiled and pulled away.
"Veronica." I stated. This was going to be fun.....
*****Dimitri's P. O. V*****
I didn't know why, but I suddenly found myself reaching for the beautiful creature named Veronica. She was average height, so she was a little short compared to me. Pale as the moon, she appeared to glow in the light of the full moon. I grabbed her petite waist, and pulled her closer, she was cold and smooth. I ran my fingers down her sides and pushed her up against the wall, holding her to my tightly.
"Now," she soothed and intertwined her delicate fingers into my hair. My breathing speed up, and she hooked one of her long legs onto my left hip. "That wasn't so hard, was it?"
I bit her neck and pulled her closer to me, loving the taste of her skin. She laughed and pulled my head back with my hair, barely pecking my neck as if to tease me.
"Now, don't you think that we should go back to your place before this goes any farther?" She whispered inbetween kisses, and ran her hands down my chest. "I don't like performing in front of strangers."
I looked around and saw that there was a couple with two little kids standing across the street. I blushed and pulled away from her, as the little girl pointed and laughed at us. I grabbed Veronica's hand and pulled her to my car down the street. She chuckled, and I turned to look at her in confusion. "What is so funny?"
"You." she replied.
*****Veronica's P. O. V*****
"Why do you find me funny?" he asked.
"I don't find you funny, so much as amusing." I replied. He had a puzzled look on his face as he pondered my answer, opening the side door to his flashy Ferrari. I smiled and slyly slid past him and into the passenger seat. I was really starting to like this mortal...
