The Lord has hidden himself from his people, but I trust him and place my hope in him -Isaiah 8:17

Its is easy to worship God when things are going good in your life-when he ahs provided food, friends, family, health, and happy situations. But circumstances are not always pleasant. In the deepest level of worship is praising God in spite of pain, thanking him in trail, trusting him when tempted, surrendering while suffering, and loving him when he is distant. Friendships are often tested by separation and silence but in a relationship with God, you wont always feel close to him but he will always be there. When you are being left by a friend and you don't even know why- and sometimes you think that there is something wrong with you. Truth is, there is nothing wrong with you. It is a normal part of the testing and maturing of your friendship with God. Every believer goes through this at least once or a couple times. It is painful and disconcerting, but it is absolutely vital for the development of your faith. When God seems distant you might think that he is angry with you and disciplining you for some sin. In fact, sin does disconnect us from the intimate fellowship with God.
God is always present, even when you are unaware of him, and his presence is too profound to be measured by mere emotion. Remember this verse:

"For God has said, I will never leave you; I will never abandon you." Hebrews 13:5
