Kaden's POV

Putting the last box of clothes in my bedroom. I look around and sigh. My whole room is covered in nothing but boxes, well other than my bed that is. Shaking my head in utter exhaustion I turn around and head towards the kitchen.

Standing in the doorway of my new kitchen, I hum in pleasure at the spotless stainless steel appliances. The stove, fridge, oven and the dishwasher was a glittering silver. The countertops were a simple black with some green streaks running through them. And the floor was of an age old design of black and white checkered pattern.

As I stood there admiring my gorgeous kitchen, my stomach let out a loud growl. Knowing that I have nothing in my fridge, I walk quickly to my backdoor. After checking the clock on the stove for the time. 4:30 p.m. enough time to go to the store, pick up some groceries and come back before the mutt realizes that I'm gone. So with that thought I turned swiftly around and hurried to the front door. Grabbing my wallet, keys and shoes I exited my house. Stepping off the porch I hurriedly slip on my Nikes and rush to my car.

Driving the allotted two miles to the nearest supermarket, because for some odd reason the nearest Wal-Mart is over twenty miles away. I thought with a snort.

Parking in the closest parking spot that I could find, I got out and headed inside. Wandering the isles, oblivious to the stares, trying to figure out what all that I need. Thinking about all the things that I could fix and what sounds good to my tummy. I didn't notice the tall figure coming out of the isle as I turned into it.

Bang!

With a loud bang, I ram basket first into a chest so broad and strong that I was moved backwards, along with my basket, a good few feet. And landed on my ass with a barely audible umph!

" Watch where you're g-!" Yelled a loud and angry voice. But he cut himself off when he looked down at me and probably noticed my slight fear.

He was standing at a terrifying height of 6 feet and 9 inches. Thick in the chest and with arms like tree trunks. His hair was black with a slight red shine to it, and eyes a deep emerald green that held a mixture of curiosity and disbelief. He seemed to shake himself out of his thoughts and when he did, he moved my basket out of the way with his right hand and reached for me with his left.

I unintentionally flinched back when his hand neared me. Causing a frown to form on his face. A thoughtful look appeared, before he slowly sunk to his knees.

" I am not going to harm you little one. I would never harm someone as cute and innocent as you." He quietly said to me. His hand still stretched out to me. Just waiting for me to grab it.

I am greater than my fear. No one will hurt me here. I thought to myself, trying to bolster up some of my courage. As soon as my breathing and heart calmed enough, I lifted my eyes up to his and placed my palm in his.

With a sharp in drawn breath from the both of us, he stood slowly bringing me up with him. Lowering my head I stuttered out an apology for running into him. He waved away my apology and simply said.

" You have nothing to apologize for. It was both of our faults for not looking where we were going. But if I may be blessed with your name? It would brighten my otherwise boring day."

Those words caused me to blush and giggle a bit. Which brought a smile to his face.

" My n-name is K-k-kaden. A-and yours?"

" Well sweet Kaden, my name is Shaun. Might I just say?"

With a confused tilt of my head, I waited patiently for him to finish what he was saying. When a high pitched squeal sounded right behind me. I was roughly pushed out of the way. Landing on my ass with a pained cry. When I fell a growl seemed to have come out of Shauns' chest. He grabbed the woman's arm and said in a calm and cold voice.

" Tricia. You do EVER push anyone, especially Kaden. Next time that you do something as rude and disrespectful like that again. I will allow your brother to deal with you in anyway that he sees fit. Am. I. Clear?" He said with a very loud growl at the end.

She was shaking throughout his whole speech and she seemed downright scared at the mention of her brother. But it did not stop her next words.

" But, baby! I was just so excited to-."

He cut her off with a wave of his large hand. She took a quick step back to avoid getting hit in the face with said hand.

Somehow the thought of her and him together squeezed my heart painfully and nearly brought me to tears, but another harsh growl interrupted my puzzling emotions.

" We were and never will be together. I told you before. Hell, the whole town knows this. I. Am. Gay! There is no way I would want your nasty taco!" He nearly roared.

The floor seemed to vibrate with the force of his roar. The cans, shelves and even the glass on the refrigerator doors were shaking. When the light fixture above shattered. My vision darkened and I was out like a light.
