Be Happy

Lucy looked at the END book that was withering away into the wind. She looked at my fingertips with widened eyes, noticing that I, too, was withering away. I looked at the shriveled dust blowing away, passing by Lucy. She looked at me in disbelief, and I knew that I was going to die anyways.

"Hey, Lucy? I'm so grateful to have you in my life..."

Lucy screamed my name, tears pouring down her eyes. Sadness and pain was held in her copper eyes. I knew how much pain and suffering she had to go through when I left the guild. It breaks my heart to not see her smile. It's all my fault and now I'm going to die not going to see her smile one last time.

"The days we spent together were the happiest days of my life..."

My left hand gone and being one with the wind. Then bits of my shoulder started to fade away, too.

"I'll treasure those memories forever..."

I looked at her and smiled. Her lips quivering as more tears strolled down her cheek. She slowly moved towards me.

"Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for always believing in me. Thank you for...for everything, Lucy."

I stood still and watched her slowly walk towards me, limping from her injured ankle. I really wish I didn't have to die like this. Seeing the one I care for in pain in front of me when I'm about to disappear from the world, it just hurts me to see this.

"I'm so glad you became my friend. I'm so glad you came into my life."

Finally, she embraced me with her delicate bruised arms and tightened them around me, never letting go. I looked to my right and saw that my whole entire arm was gone. I smiled weakly trying my best to fight back the tears. I rested my chin on her head, listening to her loud cries and feeling her tremble under my grip.

"I'll never regret the day that I met you. And, Lucy? I'm gonna miss you for sure..."

Half of my body already gone. Lucy fell onto her knees, the ground scrapping her kneecaps badly. Her tears dropping slowly onto the dirt ground, as I listen to her repeating my name and telling me to not leave her again.

"I will never forget about you... So, please... Don't forget about me, okay?"

My entire existence gone, faded away...

"I love you, and I always will..."

And all that was left in Lucy's arms to hold was my scarf...
