Before

Prologue

I was born with a tail and two sets of ears. Okay, the ear thing sounds strange, but I wasn't born with two sets of human ears. I have one of those and one set higher up that morphs to whatever form I choose. My tail morphs also. (I freaked myself out one morning when I woke up from a dream about being a mouse and my tail whipped around and I thought it was a snake. That was unpleasant. )

Anyway, I was saying that I was born differently than most of the people on this planet. I have the twisted scientists of Trina Inc. to thank for that. There are more people who were born differently.

Some can read minds, others can bend light around themselves to appear invisible.

The creepiest is the one that is basically a vampire. They don't even risk going into his cell. They open up a grate in his ceiling and throw live animals in. The scientists did an experiment when he was younger. They tested how long he could go without blood. He shriveled over the course of a day and then stayed in a hibernating state until blood was introduced to his “environment”.

There are probably scarier creatures, but this compound is so big that even my excellent hearing can't pick up on them.

You may not believe my story at this point in time, but it is real. It matters.

And, if you do not learn from it, you will die.
