My name is Rosie Hawkens. I have short blond hair with purple highlights. I have tattoos all over my body. So many that i forgot the exact number. One of them is a heart with my ex-boyfriends name etched inside, there forever. His name is Kyle Champy. He has brown hair with blue highlights, it's longer than most guys would prefer, he has tattoos all over his muscular arms. I loved him, but i had to stop dating him. I still love him, but he beat me and this is the story.
----<--((@ story begins
It all started on the first day of tenth grade. I was walking to my first class, french, when I saw him across the hallway. He was looking around seeming confused. I decided to help him.
"Hi, I'm Rosie. Would you like some help?" I asked as nice as I could.
"No," he said simple and mean.
"What do you have first period?" I ignored his hostility, but felt as though I was asking a survey.
"French," he said more hostile than before.
"Would you like to walk there together?"
He looked up for the first time during our conversation. His facial features softened and he answered back, "Sure."
We started walking. At first it was awkward, but as we walked on i learned that Kyle was really funny and sweet. It felt like we had gotten to french in no time. We walked in laughing, but stopped quickly because the room was deathly quiet. Everyone was staring at us. The teacher mad an "I'm watching you" signal with her fingers.
"What are you names?" she said with more venom in her voice than a poisonous snake.
I cowered for a bit and then said, "Um, my name is Rosie."
"I need your last name," she seemed impatient and still quite angry.
"Hawkens, Rosie Hawkens."
"Who is your friend?"
"Kyle Champy," he said staring her down.
It seemed to catch her off guard. She faltered a bit when she said, "Oh, my name is Mrs. Waturn. Take your seats."
I was giddy with glee when I found that we sat right next to each other!
Kyle leaned over and said, "This lady's a joke."
"I wouldn't say that if i were you. She has ears like a hawk," said the girl in front of me. "Hi, my name's Laurie Hardy."
"I'm Rosie."
"Kyle," Kyle said slipping back into his mean personality.
Mrs. Waturn glared at us.
"Tolad ya so,"Laurie teased.
For the next forty-five minutes I daydreamed. I didn't dream about much, except for how I would act if Kyle asked me out. The bell rang snapping me out of my daydream.
"We'll finish the lesson tomorrow. Don't forget to do your homework!" Mrs. Waturn said loudly as everyone streamed towards the door.
"That was a bore," Kyle said the minute we were out of the classroom.
" I don't really know what she was talking about," I said sheepishly.
"Hey, I hope you have fun doing the homework then!"
"Oh, I will."
We came to a hallway where I turned left and Kyle turned right. I gave him my number.
"Um, I hope you call me tonight."
"I will," Kyle answered back blushing.
I started walking away.
"Rosie, wait!"
"Yes?"
Here are my digits too, in case you get too excited to wait."
I started blushing up a storm so I turned around and started walking away. The rest of the day went by faster then the flash of a camera. I had only french class with Kyle, but oh well. I snapped out of my thought as the bell rang. I walked to my locker wanting to get home quickly so that I could call Kyle. We had just met and my life basically revolved around him already! Someone was at my locker.
"Kyle!" I screamed and ran to him.
"Hey Rosie," he said seeming nonchalant and making me sound too happy.
There was an awkward silence. "Um I was wondering, "Kytle started, "if you'd want to, ya know, go to a movie or something on Friday."
I pretended to check my mental schedule in my head trying to seem busy when I really wasn't at all. "Sure sounds fun, " gosh I sounded like a dork!
"Cool, you wanna go somewhere now? I'm not sure if I can wait till Friday."
"Sure, I'll meet you out front?"
"Awesome."
I threw my stuff in my locker and fast walked outside like a crazy person.
Kyle was already there, "You're slow," he teased.
"Hmmmm, it all depends on how fast you are."
"Nice comeback," he laughed. His laugh was manly and sweet and it mad eme want to laugh too. So I did. Man I couldn't wait to get to Starbucks!
