Legolas placed a soft kiss on Denali’s cheek, hoping not to wake her up, but when his lips touched her skin, Denali shifted and soft moan emitted from her throat.

“I felt that” She whispered.

Legolas smiled as Denali rolled over, eyes wide open.

“Morning, my love.” Legolas spoke, before placing a kiss on her lips.

When they pulled away, Denali smiled sat up, pulling the sheets around her.

“Good morning.” She leaned into Legolas, laying her head on his shoulder.

He moved a strand of hair out of her face and toyed with it, causing Denali to giggle.

“Legolas, please” She pushed him away gently.

He grinned and looked at her. The sun was on his back, and most of the light was off Denali’s face, but there was some light that outlined her face, giving her a glow.

With a start, he realized that Denali had caught him staring at her.

“You are so beautiful. I’m glad I got to know you” He spoke quietly.

“Legolas . . .”

He leaned into her, just as her eyes were slipping closed. He brushed her hair off her shoulder and gently pressed his lips to hers. Her hands went around his neck, letting the blanket fall down to her waist. Legolas pushed her down onto the bed and adjusted the blankets around them as he covered his body with his.

His lips moved down her jaw line onto her neck, slowly traveling down to her collarbone. Denali let out a soft groan and let her hands drag down his back and arms, causing Legolas to shudder and moan into her throat.

Legolas’ hands were pressed to her hips, slowly digging into her skin as he brought them up her body, making Denali cry out in pleasure. Her nails dug in to his shoulders, causing Legolas to groan.

“Oh, Legolas . . . if we don’t stop now –“

“Shush . . . I would take you here and now, if Elrond wasn’t about to knock—“

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK

“Are you two up? We need to speak now, it’s urgent.” Elrond’s muffled voice came from the other side of the door.

Legolas glared at the door and moved off Denali. She sat up, but did not bother with covering herself this time. She got up and reached for a dressing robe that hung on the back of the door. Legolas adverted his eyes and reached for his trousers.

“Am I forgiven?” He asked as crossed the room to the dresser.

Denali giggled, and not a moment later, Legolas felt her small arms encircle his waist, holding him close.

“I forgave you when you kissed me last night,” she whispered.

He had seen many days, many nights, and many wars . . . and Elrond knew that this would be the last he might ever see.

He stood in the tallest tower that overlooked all of Rivendell, with his hands clasped loosely behind his back, and dressed in a soft green robe, lined with gold.

He had foreseen his daughter’s death, and now . . . if Saurman had his way, and managed to claim Denali, then it would be her death as well.

“Grandfather?”
