We trotted up to a two story brick building with windows in the front. I tried glancing inside to see what I could see. Darkness. Nothing.

"What was this building?" I asked still glaring inside.

"A store I think." I heard glass break and looked in her direction. I saw her climbing threw a newly found hole in a window in front of the building opposite where I was.

"C'mon!" The mysterious women directed.

Once inside the building it was dead like the world around. Mold had started setting in and dust roamed the floor boards. I couldn't tell what it was before. It was just a shell of the life it had once had.

I fallowed her to an opening on the side that led to a small hallway and then to a staircase. She unsheathed her sword and walked up the stairs cautiously. At the top of the stairs was a faded white door.

She knocked 3 times, then 2. And the door opened.

"Heidi!" I heard a little girls voice come from the door. And she answered.

"Penut!" Heidi responded running in the room dropping her sword. I fallowed slowly up the stairs to find a little girl with freckles across her face and auburn hair. She couldn't be older then 11.

"So your name is Heidi?" I said leaning up aginst the doorframe while she hugged her little friend.

"Yea got a problem scrub?" The girl spoke up

"Ha ha chill Amy this is my friend-"

"John"

"Why is he here? What happened to the two of us?" She said looking at Heidi in the eyes then back at me.

"He's just trying to make it like us. I found him on my run." Heidi said smiling at amy. Amy waddled over to me. She grabbed my hand and pulled me in the room and locked the door behind me.

"Ight scrub look no funny lovy dovy business with heidi got it?"

"Uh-"

"If you look at her wierd I'll carve out your eyes and feed em to the howlers!" She said scaring me a little.

"Yes ma'am"

"Good. HEIDI look I drew another picture! Come see!" She led Heidi into another room. I fallowed out of curiosity. The room was a faded blue color with a bed large enough for 2 people in the center and a night stand next to it with a closet oposite of the bed.

"Nice set up yall have"

"Shup up scrub! Heidi look!" She showed her a picture of a farm that she picked up from the night stand.

"Wow that's good Amy! So we need to talk about somethings ok?"

"Okay" she responded happily sitting on the bed and motioning for Heidi to join her.

"John if you wouldn't mind waiting in the next room please and closing the door" Heidi told me and I exited the room and doing what I was told. I went to the hall to retrieve her sword and locked the door once again.

I sat down with my back aginst the wall next to the door. My mind raced. Where they talking about me? What they would do with me? Something totally different? I don't know.

"They don't want you here you know." I heard a familiar voice, so sweet, so inocent.

"Yes they do, Heidi would have killed me already if they didn't."

"You're not how I remember you." The voice said

"What do you mean? I am the same but I lost you which is the only thing differnt."

"You are dark, you are like that mean mean man, that monster."

"I am not..."

"But you are you're not how I saw you last, you're lonely."

"I've always been alone." I said looking around to see where the voice was coming from.

"No now you lost Ben. Jeff. You lost the ones you cared for only to replace us by these...these...girls." I felt the voice scolding me

"No one is being replaced...no one..." I stood up with the sword in hand waiting for it to respond.

*knock* * knock* I looked at the door. Was she behind the door? I was gonna find out. I unlocked the door and placed my hand on the cold copper knob. It squeeked as I turned it slowly. I flew it open. No one was there but I heard singing. A melody. A hum. I walked down the stairs.

The humming stopped. I heard sobbing now. I looked around not seeing any thing or any one. I heard the cries, my name. I saw a desk I thought it was. I waked slowly, my metal foot clamping the wood heavily. I grabbed the sword with both hands and eased my way there.

I saw a girl with no hair and burn marks. Her back to me and her crying filled me with fear.

"Little girl-" she stood up.

"You abandoned us!" The girl whaled. I fell backwards and hit my head. I closed my eyes and I heard her screams, her sobbing.

"I'm so sorry...I'm sorry..." I repeted my self. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes to see little Amy. The first time I looked in her eyes. They where light blue and glossy.

"Scrub what are you sorry for? Why are you crying?" I hadn't realized I was crying I sat up and wiped my eyes.

"Uh um....nothing it's nothing."

"Okay...well Heidi says it's time for bed and for me to find you." I looked out the window to see the sky black now.

"Uh ok I'll be right up." I got up and grabbed the sword and fallowed Amy. Was I asleep? Did I black out again? I don't know. I closed the door behind me and locked it. Heidi was walking twords me.

"Here's this" I handed her sword to her.

"No...not now we need to talk now."

"Ok what ab-"

"Amy go lay in bed I'll be there in a second!" She shouted as I heard a sweet okay coming from the bed room.

She looked at me in the eyes. One of hers was green and the other brown. She was very pretty women. "How do you do it?"

"Do what?"

"Hide what you've been threw, your monsters?" She said looking away at the floor. I did the same and saw small candles lining the walls.

"I...I dont..."

"Late at night I hear the screams...the pain...all the love around me is dying and...how can I save her from becoming what I am?" She teared up

"I don't know what you mean?"

"John she's blind..."
