Cayden's POV
We're finally here. In the place that holds the answers to every question I have ever asked myself. The main question being 'Where do I belong?'.
We all get out of the small Jeep and head into the most amazing house I have ever seen. It contains seven bedrooms, which is just enough for everyone. I see a man step out. Henry drops his things and runs towards the man. I try to get a better look at the mysterious man.
"James!" Henry excitedly yells. I should have known it was James. James is my older brother, about ten years older. He is letting us stay in his huge house until we can find our own place to sleep and do magic.
Avalon nudges me. "You look so thrilled to see your brother, Cayden." she says sarcastically.
"I'm not here to make amends with him. I'm here to find the other Blackwells and to increase my magical potential." I say angrily.
"I know you're mad at him, but if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be here. Plus, I know how much you want to forgive him." Avalon says trying to cheer me up. She is my best friend and knows me better than anyone, but she's wrong about me wanting to forgive him.
James shows us all to our rooms. After I get settled in, I take the jeep and go for a ride. Driving is the only thing I can do to relieve my stress. I feel even better now that it's raining, my favorite kind of weather.
While driving down a quiet road I notice a car parked, but no one was in it. I kept driving. A mile down the road from where I saw the car, I saw a girl walking alone. I started to drive slowly beside her while she was walking.
"Would you like a ride?" I concernly asked.
"No thanks. I don't take rides from strangers." the girl said.
"It's better than getting sick." I said.
"You could be a killer." she joked.
"Do I look like I could be a killer to you?" I questioned.
"Looks can be decieving." she said as she was getting into the jeep.
I reached into the back of the jeep and grabbed Avalon's sweater. The girl was soaking wet. Her brown hair looked almost black. Her face lit up when I handed her the sweater.
"Thank you. I'm Diana." She said still smiling.
"I'm Cayden." I replied. "What happened to your car? I seen it a mile back."
"It just broke down." She answered. "Is this you at prom?"
Her finger pointed to the picture of Avalon and I dancing. I went with Avalon to prom because my brother was grounded. Avalon and I won Prom King and Queen that night.
"Yes, it is." I answered.
"It looked like you had fun." she said. "Can you drop me off here?"
I parked outside the house that she was pointing at. Then, I reached in the back, once again. I picked up an umbrella and handed it to her.
"Here. You can return the sweater and umbrella the next time that you see me." I said smiling at her.
"Thanks for the ride." She replied while getting out of the jeep.
