>>The Present<<

"Drop the knife Emilee! Drop it!" He shouted. I looked down at my hands to see a blood covered knife in one hand and nothing in the other. I looked back up at him and then down at the bodies that lay by my feet. "I said drop the knife! Drop it now!" He shouted again. A metal clang echoed through the room as the knife fell to the floor. He walked over to me and grabbed my arm. "I'm taking you to the police." He mumbled and dragged me out of the room. I never saw him again until months later.

>>The Past, approximately one year earlier<<

I watched as my parents scrambled around the house, picking things up and putting them in boxes. I stood there, confused. "M-Mom..What's going on?" She looked at me then started packing again. "Laura! Help me with this box please!" My dad shouted from the front yard. I saw a box labeled "Preston's things" so I pointed to it. "Who's Preston?" I asked like a 5-year-old. My mom looked at me as she left the house. I sighed, walked around until I was finally in the living-room again, and sat in the now empty room. I looked around me, "Good bye." I stood up and walked out with my backpack. I stood outside the car as my parents put in the last of the boxes. "So..Who's Preston?" I asked again. My parents looked at each other and sighed. "Preston is...Your older brother."
