Chapter 2: strange men

The hairs on the back of Natalie's neck stood up, maybe it was the fact that she was scared out of her mind or maybe because the room was over 100 degrees. both perhaps?.

You don't even have a plan! You'll find your dad and then what?

She honestly didn't have a plan but there was no turning back now. The only way out was covered with flames. She felt like the stupid girl in the scary movies who went back into the house with the murder, everyone knew she would die, they just had to wait and see how it played out. At least she would die next to her father she thought. If only she could find him.

The lights in the hallway flicked on and off until they finally shut off completely. Could this possibly get any worst? She thought but realized she spoke too soon the moment the sprinklers went off. Great

Now she was hot and wet. Even though the lights were out, the fire brought the hall a light glow which she used to help her find her way. Her dad's office was on the west wing which was a long way from where she was. She took off the high heels that was dragging her down. Only keeping one pair in her hand. A weapon perhaps? And left the other pair in the hall. She ran straight down trying to figure out where exactly she was ..

Left...right... right turn this way ..another left

She let out a relieving sigh. She was almost there. Her body stood still when she heard footsteps. Michael??

The sound was getting closer and closer. It belonged to a thick Russian male. He was on the phone, she could tell only because she understood a little of the language. It definitely wasn't Michael. All her body was screaming hide... run ...Natalie just DO SOMETHING but her feet didn't budge, she just stood there lifeless. She wondered what he wanted? Why was he even here? And most importantly who the fuck was he??. All her questions seem like they were about to be answered because she soon was faced with the man in question.

Michael ran towards the west wing because the east wing was flooded with flames. He tried to clam his nerves so he could think straight, but his angry got the best of him. Keeping the daughter of Vincenzo Vinicius's safe wasn't exactly an easy job. The man had a lots of enemies, but the fact that daughter had a mind of her own wasn't exactly a plus. She tried her absolute best to disobey him. When he said right, she went left ,when he said left she went right. Though he loved her like a sister, he could live without her stubbornness.

He held his gun out when he heard a strange noise coming from down the hall. He walked slowly making sure his footsteps were silent. The darkness of the room kept him hidden but the burning glow gave him light which he was thankful for, at least the fire was good for something, he sliently creeped the hall making a stop at the intersetion of the passage. The noise was coming from a door, he could tell because the golden handle shined in the dark. His mind was stuck on what to do .. should he listen in or continue is his search? The right option was clear but his curiousity made him choose the more dangerous option. He pressed his ears on the wooden doors and stood still.

" WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY DIDN'T FIND HER!!! Afon??? what do you think Ivan would say ??HE'S GOING TO FUCKING KILL US!!!. i have a family you know ..two little girl... "

"and you think your the only one that has a family?" a deep voice chuckled.

"that's not what i mean't "

"then what the fuck did you mean? If your so worried about what Ivan would do to you... Maybe I should help you out..."

It grew quiet for a minute and all Michael could here was a click. He wasn't quite sure but it sounded like the safety of a gun.
