I get up reluctantly from the comforts of my warm bed and walk into the kitchen of my brother's and I small apartment. He's busily cooking up breakfast in the kitchen, his long curly brown hair a mess as he rushes from the cabinets to the stove.
"Morning Maliki." I yawn and he whirls around
"Hey Jay!" he smiles, his bright green eyes gleaming, over joyed.
"Your awful cheerful this morning, whats the occasion?"
"well, I wasn't going to tell you until i get settled in but, i got a new job! Working at a, uh, library! Yeah! I'm working at the library down town, I'm in the back sorting out the books and stuff and checking people's books out on the night shift!"
"Oh, i didn't realize the library was a 24 hour one, ok then. Congratulations." i say warmly before grabbing the plate of pancakes and sitting down on the sofa. he leaves the room for a couple minutes before coming back his hair cleaned up a bit and his keys in his hand.
"where are you going?" I ask curiously.
"huh? Oh! To work!" he answers simply,
"I thought you said you had the night shift?"
"Well, yeah I do! Just the person who is showing me around working during the day." he explains before saying goodbye and leaving me alone to the peacefully quiet apartment. well, I hope he enjoys his new job.
