Today out of all days was the start of wrestling season. I dreaded it most of the time with the cutting weight, long practices, no social life and having so much homework, but the one thing I really loved about it was spending time with my boys. And yes you heard me correctly, I'm on the boys teams not a girls team the boys team. Some people think it's weird but it's a part of who I am and I wouldn't change it for the world.
Now I never really have an answer when people ask me why I started playing. But I really think it's for that amazing adrenaline rush you get when you step up on the mat and you look your opponent in the eye. It is just you, your opponent and the clock. It's up to you deciding how the match is going to play out. I love all these things about the sport but I especially cannot live without any one of my teammates. They were the people that accepted me and cheered me on. I have gained all of their respect and they help me improve everyday.
Now back to the present:
The first thing I see when I walk into practice are my three best friends. Yes I love them to death but they are the most carefree but conceited boys out there. Now from here on will be my story of how my season went and what I experienced with my boys. I never take them for granted and I truly love them and this sport.
