What do I imagine paradise to be?
Not a place where I'm all alone,
Not a place with only me,
Your only purpose to be blown
By the wind.
But it is easier to imagine in Your arms,
Cradling me so kind.
Starry nights and beaming days,
Running through a long field of maize
Not a care in the world, just good cheer.
Just my parents, brothers and sisters, here.
Going down a country road,
Rocky and dusty, on my bicycle, going faster.
Down to my humble abode
A small cottage, that only a woodsman can master.
Amidst the trees, a small brook,
Runs past my house. I take a look,
At God's beautiful masterpiece,
One that no farmer can lease.
The dappled light from the green trees,
My family around me, the keys
For my heart are found.
That is paradise to me. But I look around,
And things are very different.
But still I dream of that day,
When we can come around and play,
With the purity of children.
And I can hear the song of a wren,
In the treetops, and know he will live,
Happily, forever and ever.
But right now paradise,
Is just to be here with You,
Even though it's just a small slice
Of Your love anew.
So I will wait
For the wonderful colors and songs
And fulfill my fate,
Then be where I belong,
In paradise.
