Poetry.

It's something we learn as a kid.

We never really have any interest in it because we think it's just rhyming.

Who's good at rhyming?

They teach us haiku, concrete, others I can't remember.

Why would we want to write something with seven syllables in one line and five in the next?

What they don't teach us is poetry comes from our feelings.

Emotions.

Or memories.

Poetry is suppose to take us away.

Get us lost in our thoughts.

Set us free from our worries.

They make us laugh and cry.

We connect to poetry.

We should be taught the real type of poetry.

Schools should stop giving us half of what something is.
