I quickly took my time to load another arrow, the bullets no longer flying in my direction. I stood up, but suddenly got a wire wrapped around my neck, the man pulling harshly. I dropped my crossbow, gasping for air, but with no luck. Memories of me, Kat, Zeke, Ryan, and Mitch flashed across my eyes, as I felt my life slowly leave me.
'This is it' I thought to myself. Suddenly, the man stopped the strangling, making my body fall to the ground, gasping for air. Clurrisa knelt next to me, as the other half of Howes suddenly blew up. I was still trying to gather my breath, when she spoke up "Come on! This place isn't going to last much longer!" She helped me walk off, as I took in the fact that everyone was dead.
3 days later
We we're sitting across from each other, fire in between us. I hadn't spoken in 3 days, hadn't had anything to talk about. I thought 'The man should have just killed me.' I sighed, Clurrisa's head perking up "So you are breathing." She stated sarcastically, but didn't get a reply from me. Walking around the fire, she sat next to me "Their not dead. If you think that then your not going to get anywhere." She spoke, as I ignored her. She said one thing that made me pissed "So what if they are?! Your still gonna walk around moping. You need them, because you can't be alone." Getting up, all in her space I hollered back "How do you think I should act girl?! I just lost the closest thing to my family! This is all the time..." I turned put of her view, face starting to tear up "...Whenever I try getting close to someone they just die! Kat!" I wiped away my tears "Zeke!" She hugged me tightly. She whispered "I'm sorry, I just really love you." I stayed silent, as she continued "I don't want you to lose yourself." I just continued to walk, muttering "Let's go." She nodded slowly, as we walked off.

The next day
I released an arrow through a squirrels stomach. Walking over I pulled the arrow out, walking to the campsite and throwing clurrisa the squirrel. She spoke up slowly "Julius...I-" a lurker suddenly came from the woods and bit a big chunk of her neck. I quickly got up and knocked it down, bringing my blade down through its forehead. I turned and eyed her, as she gasped in pain. Tears rolled in my eyes, starting to drop "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She just smiled weakly, "Say you love me." She said, but I shook my head "I can't, I whispered. Her eyes slowly shut, as she muttered "I'm sorry." Looking at her corpse with tears, I unsheathed my blade, bring it down through her foreheard, then again, and again, and again. After 5 times her face wasn't recognizable, and I just looked at her corpse solemnly. After seemingly hours, I got up, and walked off.
I had been walking for hours, not finding need for water, or food, or shelter. I stopped, hearing cries, and walked closer to see Howes, lurkers crowding its inside and out, "Jewel." I muttered, running quickly, I manovered around the many lurkers that tried to grab me, running inside. I saw the typical ladder that led to the high balcony Zeke, Kat, and jewel slept, hearing her cries. Climbing the ladder, I saw Jewel trying to pull the trigger of the gun, the clip obviously empty. I quickly unslung my crossbow, releasing an arrow through a lurker that was about to bite into her legs forehead. Grabbing it by its hair, I yanked it away, before helping Jewel up, seeing soke empty canned foods. I looked down from the balcony, looking to see lurkers had surrounded the escape root. I sat down, jewel looking at me "Hi Jul-es." I looked at her, and responded "Hey kiddo, don't worry, I'll get us out of here... Some-" I stopped, seeing the large crates that lied there. I pushed one down, it landing, and crushing a lurkers body in the process. When I turned, I saw that she was gone, and my eyes widened in realization 'I was hallucinating.' I sighed, knowing that this was it, and leaned against the wall, sitting. Lighting a cigerrate, I inhaled, before exhaling in a sigh. Shaking my head, I muttered "Well, guess this is it, I'm such a pu**y." I closed my eyes, bringing my legs up, and resting my arms on my knees. 'I always manage to get myself into these situations...' I thought of Kat and how she was like my sister, who died. Its a very long story. I just wasn't sure how I could get myself out and I doubt it's even possible. I stood up, standing on the ledge, and eying the lurkers that had surrounded us. I now knew where everyone was going.
