Myle's POV

How funny, cotton candy. My favourite too. We had a lot in common and it was kinda creepy, really. It was like we were meant to be. I stood up and charmingly smiled at Briar. "I'll be right back, it's on me." I said, referring to the icecream. "No, I'll get i-" She said, reaching for her purse. "No. You sit down." I said, pushing her hand back towards the table. "Thank you." She said, her brown eyes glinting in the light. "It's my pleasure." I said before shifting my weight onto my heels and turning towards the cash desk. "I'll have two cotton candy comes please, Sara." I smiled. I was a regular here, so obviously I knew all of the waitresses like they were my friends. I know Sara lives alone with three dogs, her favorite color is purple and she speaks four languages. Her boss, Jennie is a black belt in karate and can say the alphabet in French, backwards. All pointless facts really but, I have spent a lot of time in this place with these people. "Coming right up, Myles." She said, the same smile spread across her scarlet red lips. "Who's the girl?" She smirked, lowering her voice. She knew Briar was listening in. "My soon to be girlfriend." I whispered back, flashing a playful grin at her. She handed me the two bright blue cones with a piece of pink cotton candy on top. "Merci." I said, laughing and she shooed me off so she could attend to the next customer.

Briar's POV
I tapped my nails on the surface. It was a habit that I couldn't help, I could tell I was frustrating the people around me so I had to sit on my hands to stop myself from doing it. I couldn't help but notice a girl from the other side of the cafe, staring at me. Not just staring, she looked like she was going to devour me. It was a frightening sight, I was scared to turn around. Her hair was in a high ponytail and the ends of each strand were nearly curled. She was dressed in a white crop top and a pale pink skirt. That was all I could see, I had to frantically look away every time I caught a glimpse. I smiled as Myle's came back with the cones and he handed me mine. I immediately devoured my cone. God, I was so hungry. He licked his icecream slow, like he was making out with it. I laughed. "How's your make out session going?" He laughed and scooped some ice cream onto his finger. "Great, how about you join in." He said jokingly, smearing some on my cheek. He then wiped it with a napkin, still in a heap of giggles. Then, it turned serious. "Who's that girl?" I nibbled the bottom of my lip and tilted my head sideways to signify that it was the girl on our right I was referring to. "Oh, her." He said, lowering the tone of his voice. "It's um.. My ex." He said, turning his attention back to me. "Abi." He said, nibbling his fingertip. I've never seen him do that before. "Why are you so nervous?" I said, my eyes widening once again. He held my hands and stroked my palms in circular movements. "I don't want you getting hurt. She's a bitch." He said, looking into my eyes. "I won't let her hurt you." He said, leaning in to me. "You're so beautiful." He said, looking at me. I could feel my cheeks burning, this was so embarrassing. But I held myself together and looked at him. "You think so?" I said, pressing my pink lips together. "Can I kiss you?" He said, not wanting to do anything more without my consent. "You have two minutes." I said, keeping things cool. We start to kiss, and I've definitely never kissed a boy like this before. It's so passionate. Like we both care for each other more than we care about anything. Between kisses, he pulled away and said "How much time do I have left?" I glanced at the large clock and smiled. "45 seconds." He smiles and continues. I pulled away, fluffing my hand through his hair. "Times up, buddy." I playfully hit his shoulder and we stand up. I glance at Abi as we walk past. She is staring at us in utter disgust. Bitch.
