Well... Finally? This a lot longer than the previous chapters, though

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up by the sound of birds, and sunlight falling through my curtains. Which is a beautiful way to wake up - unless you're supposed to wake up before the sun has fully risen, which'd be around 6:30. When I realised that, I shot up, and checked my alarm clock. It read 9:22 PM, which means that I was supposed to be in class 1 hour and 22 minutes ago. Checking my phone, I've missed a couple of texts from Tessa, who thinks that I'm dead since I'm never late.

I sprung out of bed, quickly threw on some clothes and made breakfast. I was ready to go and almost out of my apartment when I realised something; I didn't have a car. Walking back to my car alone would already take me 50 minutes, if I was fast, and my car broke down, which means I still have to call a mechanic. It being 9:48 PM now, and my class ending at 11: PM, I'd never get there while the class is still going on. 'Fuck!' I yelled. Usually I'm very organized, never late, and always get things done fast and easily. What has gotten me thrown off this much?

After having called the mechanic who promised to fix my car, I called Tessa. 'I though you were dead!' she basically screams through the phone. 'I thought you were killed during your late night walk yesterday,' she continues. 'Did you forgot I texted you after that, Tess?' I laugh. 'That's not- wait, did you?' she asks. 'I did. I couldn't sleep last night so I played a bit on the piano, but it ended up being 3 AM and my alarm didn't succeed in waking me up this morning,' I explain. 'Anyways, I have to call Max for a ride to the hospital. I really do not feel like walking through the rain again'. 'Afternoon shift?' Tessa asks. 'Yeah,' I reply, 'We're still having dinner tonight together right?' 'Of course, see you tonight!' Tessa chirps, and with that, the call ended.

Not being able to call Max and dealing with him, I send him a quick text explaining where my car is and asking for a ride. Max is this type of friend who you get fast annoyed with, yet you still love them. 'Thank god you came,' I sigh as I opened his car door. 'Of course,' he just smiles. After a quick drive we get to the hospital, and I turn to Max. 'Thanks again, have a nice day,' I say. 'Same to you, Al!' and he's gone. I walk into the big building, finding my way to the department where you get your blood drawn and tested. 'Good afternoon,' I say while walking in the room, receiving a few smiles from the other doctors and patients being around. 'Afternoon Alexis, car trouble?' Mikayla asks. I raise an eyebrow. 'Saw your car still standing here, and couldn't really imagine that you'd go for fun out in that heavy rain last night,' she chuckles. 'Yeah, but the mechanic should have fixed my car by now,' I say.

I'm in one of the rooms where we draw the blood, labeling some blood, when I get interrupted by a deep voice. 'Err, excuse me?' a deep male voice says. 'You can sit down, I'll draw your blood in a minute,' I say hurriedly, trying not to lose my focus with the labeling. 'Do you have a paper the doctor gave you, so I can see what you need to get tested for?' 'Yeah, right here,' he replies and when I turn around to take the paper shock fully hits me. In front of me is standing a tall, broad guy, around my own age. His brown curly hair is swooped up in a quiff, his green eyes deep. Even though his lips are pressed in a thin line and he doesn't look very happy, he's the most gorgeous man I've ever seen. And I did saw him, yesterday night. 'Are you okay? You look quite pale,' he says. 'I thought doctors should be able to handle blood'. 'Perfectly fine, and still a student,' I cut him off. I study his paper and get the things I need. After successfully drawing his blood, Mikayla walks in. 'Hello, mr. Styles, how are you doing today?' she asks. 'Fine. Doing the usual tests?' he replies. 'Yeah, but Alexis here is going to do them,' she says, while winking at me. I just raise my eyebrows, and reply with a quick 'okay'. And with that, Mikayla is out of the room.
