I'm sitting in this room with nothing but a mirror in front of me. There's a window to the left of me and a wooden table.
The opening of the door broke the silence. It was officer Shane
"Mr. Drakeford"
"Yes?"
"Do you know why your here?"
The sound of my voice was shaky and my palms were sweaty and moist. I knew what was to come but I still managed to continue the conversation.
" I have no clue officer."
"No clue? Hmm Audrey looks old. Mind to tell me how old she is?"
" Shes 14 sir."
"14 woah ! Want to hear a story Mr. Drakeford."
I didn't give a response.
"I'll take that as a yes. Well 14 years ago a woman was brutally murdered in an alley. She was pregnant at the time. When we arrived at the scene the baby wasn't there. But the killer made a huge mistake. He left the murder weapon behind. We couldn't find any fingerprints but we did find some footprints. Looks like the killer must've stepped into a puddle of blood and didn't recognize."
I was beginning too sweat. How did I not notice! I can feel myself getting ready to crack. I cleared my throat.
"Nice story."
"What shoe size are you Mr.Drakeford"
" Size 11"
" Perfect match. "
" No, Audrey is mine. I would never do something like that."
"Really so what happened to your wife."
"Um my wife? She .... She got hit. Yeah she got hit by a bus and the impact killed her."
"Do you mind taking a lie detector test?"
"Let's go."
This lie detector test can either ruin my life or set me free. Either way I am not going to let them take Audrey.
