I felt my stomach felt light as air as I gazed at her, my mouth dry as sand making me cough to clear it. A smile broke out on my face as I gazed at her light strawberry hair and light yellow eyes. My mind felt blank and my legs like jelly but I managed to stand proud and tall as I swallowed once more, "May I have your hand princess?" I forced out through my tight throat. Nanami's warm smile sent a warmth to my stomach, something that only she could do. Reaching out my hand to her, her soft small hand was placed tenderly in my own. The small appendage fitting perfectly in my own big hand, a warmth encasing it. A jolt of electricity spread through our connected hands as I stooped down and placed a feather light kiss upon the back of it, my eyes closed. This is the last time I will be able to hold her hand like this...I wish I could have been the one...
Opening my eyes once more, I glanced up at my angel a small smile painted on my face, her bright yellow eyes seeming clouded over as she offered up a small pained smile of her own. Licking my lips, I slowly got up from my position, still clutching lightly to her hands, the tips of my fingertips playing with the end of hers. I glanced at her bright white flowing dress, a small white rose planted gently behind her strawberry locks, as her hair was pulled up in a small bun. I swallowed hard, looking down at my feet as I shifted the weight from one leg to the other, I wanted to be the one...I can't turn back the clock now...but...
I felt my eyes close as I pain went through my chest, taking one of my hands from hers and placing it over the tux covered spot. I felt my head hang low, my chin almost meeting my chest as I waited for the pain to dull. I felt the sharp stab in my heart increase when her hand gently pulled away from my other, my angel flying away towards heaven. I felt my throat tighten at the sound of his deep voice, speaking words to her, I wanted to be the one. Not him.
I coughed, feeling the sting of tears burning behind my eyelids, as I swallowed again, moving a hand up to my face to rid it of the evidence. Slowly I forced my head up, glancing at the happily married couple, their bright smiles and laughter filling the white reception hall. Tokiya stood next to Nanami, his white tux matching perfectly with her white dress, their gold bands flashing in the white light. With a small move of the arm, Tokiya enclosed Nanami in a waist hug as he stooped down to whisper in her ear, a tinge of pink coating her pale face. I stared off into space, my mind still thinking of the times I had spent with my angel and then flashed back to the present, her white wings next to another pair. Coughing, I glanced up at the couple to see their eyes on me. With a small smile, I waved the camera in the air, seeing a huge smile cross Nanami's face at the sight of the tiny device. Slowly I moved back, focusing the camera at the couple, their smiles filling the lenses of the camera making me cringe as I felt my chest throb once more.
Bringing a hand up, I ruffled my hair, closing my eyes as I let out a small sigh. Looking through the lenses once more, I saw the obvious happiness upon Nanami and Tokiya's faces. Their happy with each other...You need to let her go.
I hovered my finger over the shutter button, With this...this is when you give her up...
Slowly I brought my finger down, thinking of all the happy memories I had with my angel, and with a small click I locked them deep with in my heart along with my feelings. I moved my head away from the device and glanced up to see the couple smiling at me. I blinked then slowly smiled back, but the throb in my chest still lingered. I placed a hand back over my heart, "I wish you happiness Nanami." I whispered out, bringing my head back down to my chest the stabbing pain still lingering.
I'll lock my feelings for you deep within my heart, so that you may have the happiness you deserve princess.
