They were screaming, my parents I mean. It was constant and they'd rip eachother's heads off one minute and then be lovey dovey the next. My father was Jackson Briar, known to many as the CEO of the largest auto parts company. He inherited the company from his father. Our family was very wealthy which caused a lot of hardships and stress. It seems great to have a lot of money right? Wrong, when you have money people hate you and they decieve you.

The only person who doesn't treat me differently, other than my cat Snowball is my best friend Kyle. Since day one we've been as thick as thieves. No one could ever seperate us and if they did, they'd quickly regret it. Now your probably wondering about my mom. The lovely Stephanie Briar. A slim, curvy in all the right places bitch. I know that sounds mean but she's really my step monster. A gold digger really, I see why my dad fell for her. She has an almost angelic grace to her. Beauty was her strength, so was the most decieving of them all. She was cold and heartless, which she very much took pride in.

I hated her and she hated me, its the one thing we've come to agree on. So, as a solution we simply pretend that neither of us exist. "Dawn! Get down here!" My father calls up to me, pulling me from my thoughts. Oh boy, what did I do this time?

I walked across my room slowly admiring the softness of my new black carpet. Recently I had my room redesigned in black and white. Looking back I sighed wishing I didn't have to leave the comfort of my fuzzy black blanket to see my dreaded family. However, life isn't on my side so I glide down our stairs. Okay more like slde down the banister. "Yeah Jack?" I said to my father knowing I'm not allowed to call him dad.

He looks up from his conversation with step-monster and waves his hand to the door. "Your friend is here." He said to me. I smiled and ran to the double doors listening to the smack of my bare feet againt the hard floor. "Kyle! Hey!" I said to him eagerly which caused him to smile. His brown, curly hair was an adorable mess and it hung just above his sea green eyes. He towered over me at 5"9, me being a tiny 5"3. He was lanky with barely any muscle. Although he had a tan only girls could dream of having.

I couldn't ever go into the sun. It stung most of the time. Although sun screen gave me a few hours. "Yeah, of course I came! Your 18th is tomorrow and I want to celebrate it, just us." He said to me, looking embrassed and awkward. I smiled and hugged hkm. I couldn't ask for a better friend.

"So where too?" I ask him as we keep driving down the highway. The sun had just started setting when we had left and now it was pitch black besides the lights of the city and the stars. I looked over at him and he just shook his head and his smile grew wider.

He planned something big, it was obvious with that smile. That smile meant good but it also meant bad. Still, I was a patient person...sort of. I could wait to find out as long as it didn't take forever.
