Chapter 1

Give it back, you stupid!" commanded Jai. "I will, once you stop being such a little brat!" yelled Sam. A slight ripping noise started to occur causing the envelope to tear open. "Come on Sam that was from the principal. It was for me." Jai complained. "No it was for me. What makes you think you would ever even get the last spot on the bus to the field trip?" Sam questioned. "Well why does it matter now, neither of us are going." he stated before sitting on the bench at school. Sam sat next to him and sighed. "This sucks." she said while leaning back. "You know how much I hate you right now Jai?" she asked. "A lot." he instantly answered. "Hey, Sam, since we can't go on that field trip do you wanna hang at my house?" Jai offered. "Sure why not." Sam replied not sounding too interested.

They both ran out of school and on their buses to go home after a boring day at school. Sam sat with one of her best friends, Iris and told her about why she isn't able to go to the field trip tomorrow. Iris wasn't too happy. All of her friends would be going, Iris, Ivy, Erin and Melody which where all friends with each other so they would be fine without her.

After a while Sam got off the bus and ran home beating the bus to pass her house. She got to her door and searched through her backpack to find her keys. "Dammit!" she exclaimed throwing her backpack on the floor. She has to have her keys because her parents don't get home until 7 or 8 and it was 4 right now. She had to get in the house somehow. She looked up and saw a window that was only a crack open. "Challenge accepted." she declared narrowing her eyes and smirking. She started to climb the tree in front of her house and luckily right in front if the window too. She came to a point where she couldn't climb anymore or the branch would break. She could reach the roof, ledge thing that was just under the window. Sam grabbed the ledge and pulled herself up onto the ledge. Resting for a short while she caught her breath then opened up the window and crawled inside. She casually shut the window, got her backpack from outside and carried on with her usually home-alone routine.

The next day Sam's usual school alarm went off too early in the morning. She just then realized that she wasn't going to school today because it was the day of the field trip and she wasn't going thanks to Jai. The one thing she did remember was that she was going to his house today, but how, her parents are at work. Picking up the phone Sam started dialing Jai's home phone number. Their final decision was to get Jai's dad to pick her up and take her to their house. Sam sat around at home waiting for Jai's dad's car to appear around the corner while listening and singing to some of her favorite songs. Jai was just sitting in the car while his dad drove him to her house. A little while later Jai arrived at Sam's house and as soon as she saw that it was Jai's car she ran outside, locked the door and hopped in right next to Jai. "Hey was up?" began Jai. "Oh, nothing much." replied Sam feeling a bit awkward.

"Come on Jai say something. Grr why is she so pretty! Wait why is she my friend? She is so out of my league. Hold up Jai, be more confident, you are in the highest guy group of your class. Ok I really need to stop talking to myself like this." Jai thought. Sam put on her earbuds and just listened to music on the car ride to Jai's house. When Sam did that it made Jai feel like Sam was bored or didn't want to listen to him so he kept silent until she said something first. The car came to a stop in front of Jai's house. "Nice place." Sam commented while admiring the cleanness of his home. "Thanks" Jai responded looking around. "Well kids, I have to get ready for work, if you need anything just let me know and don't get into trouble." Bruce, Jai's dad, rushed in before running upstairs.  "Ok Jai be nice, she's your house guest, offer her something." he thought to himself. "Hey Sam, do you want anything to drink maybe?" he asked. "Yeah sure." Sam replied looking at the fridge to her left. Jai walked over to the fridge, opened it and pulled out a bottle of coke, or as he thought. He poured the liquid into two cups that where identical. Sam picked up the glass and took a few gulps while Jai put away the bottle. She stood there seeming a bit confused. Jai then closed the fridge and did the same as Sam did. "Is there something wrong with this coke?" Sam muttered not feeling too well.

"Your right, I'm not feeling too well." Jai complained before groaning. Just then Bruce came downstairs and asked "Whoa what's with all the groaning and mumbling? Everything ok down here?" "We aren't feeling too well, we think it has something to do with the coke in the fridge." Sam responded only feeling worse. Bruce perked up. "We haven't bought coke since... a long time." he recalled. Bruce went straight to the fridge and checked the bottle. "Oh no, no no, guys what you drank isn't coke, it's my assignment for tomorrow!"  he informed panicking a lot. "WHAT!" Jai slightly screamed. "Oh, I need to record whats happening!" Bruce decided. "And now it's coming up!" Sam barked before gaging and running to the bathroom. Moments later Jai crossed his arms over his stomach and ran to the other bathroom. "Great." Bruce lied.
