Prologue
Falling, that's all I remembered before I was completely dead. I remember shouting all around me. Probably the bumbling idiots who gave me penicillin when they knew I was allergic. There were no white lights, no giant golden gates, no magical horns to open them, just the feeling of falling into a vortex with zero gravity.
Then the pain started.
It traveled from my forehead to the back of my skull, down my spinal cord and it stopped in between my shoulder blades. It just sat there festering until it was so painful that it made my vision white out and my body to go numb. I felt heavy suddenly. The pain was fading, but I was still plunged in darkness. Succumbing to my injuries and the lethargic state of my mind, I fell into a fitful sleep.
