Five years old:
An apple
And a puppy
Two sticks
And a teddyEight years old:
A pencil
A notebook
Good grades
And a fireTen years old:
Three forks
Two spoons
A tarp
And my happiness intactTwelve years old:
My shoes
A blanket
An owl
Twenty dollars
And a lighterFourteen years old:
Some tea
Some sugar
A kitten
And a bottle
Filled with broken dreams
No ambition
And injuries that don't matterFifteen years old:
The heroine
And hip-bone needles
The cocaine
And the lies
My mother and my father
And a whisper and a loverSixteen years old:
A skeleton
Loose clothing
Torn throat
And no hope
My innocence is broken
And a tombstone weighs me down*A/N this is describing what a person would take with them if they ever had to run away. It's sort of like a timeline that shows what the world can do to someone as they age.
