Chapter 1

Sigh... he is just so cute. My brothers best friend,Lance, was sitting in our living room playing Call of Duty that my brother got for his birthday. I'm only 14 years old but i will soon be turning 15.. in a couple of months so to say.  I'm a Freshman at St. Francis High. My brother and his friend were both recently turned 16 so Sophomores in high school. " I'm going to kick your ass!" My brother shouted while leaning to his right rapidly pressing buttons. "Like hell u wish!" Lance shouts back. "I'm going to go call mom." I say but of course they didn't hear me over all the cursing and shouting they were doing at each other. Whatever. I go get the phone kitchen and sit at the counter island. "Hello?" My mother answers. "Hey mom!" I reply  "Oh hey sweetie.! I've missed you.! How is High School going?" See, my parents are both the worlds largest travel agents which requires them to go all over the world. Which is funny because i haven't been anywhere outside of Oregon. "Good mom.! just fine." "Do you have a boyfriend yet?" she asks all innocently. "MOM.!", I gasp, " No.!" But my mind wonders to Lance. "No mom. There are no guys that i'm interested in." "Awe thats to bad sweety. Well i have to go i have a meeting in 5 minuets." Sigh.."Yeah ok mom. Bye." And i hang up before she could reply back. i miss her and shes not even here to watch her own daughter grow up. I know that it's not her fault it's what she and my dad to for part of there work but still. I walk back into the living room and sit down on the couch. next to Lance. "Hey whats wrong Violet?" He asks looking worried. What does this mean? "Nothing.". I reply ," I just miss my mom." "Oh, Well awwww! it will be ok! I promise. I'll always be here!" He smiles and gives me a hug. " Yeah. Thanks." i smile back. My heart beat was soring.Omg!! He's actually hugging me i want to stay like this forever. "Bro!", My brother says punching Lance in the arm," Let go of my sis. Don't worry i got her." He says . Ugh! He always ruins my good moments. I frown. "Whatever!" I say. All of a sudden the doorbell rings. My brother frowns and ask's me," were you expecting someone?" "Umm no. I don't think so." I walk over to the door and open it. Standing at the door was a girl my age with long brown hair and green eyes. Her clothes were dirty and caked with mud. And was that blood i saw on her mouth...I tried to peer closer when my brother popped out of no where and asked.."Who are you?" I turn around and look at him. Just then Lance steps from out of the living room. " What are you doing here Ava?" He asks. "I came here-" She was cut off by my brother looking at Lance all crazy,"You know this girl? Who is she?" "....My fiance..." He replys staring at the girl. What.?!?! She's about the same age as me and SHE gets Lance? MY LANCE?!?! Oh HELL NAW! Plus the girl was filthy. It looked like her hair hasn't even been combed in like forever. This couldn't be happening! No i wouldn't let it! As mean as this sounds i have to get rid of her and quick.
