The Bad Hero

Ch.3

I sat in the car with Loki to my left, Captain Steve to my right, Thor up front in passenger, and Uncle Banner driving. 

"So Mr. Rogers-"

"Oh you can just call me Steve" He cut in with a little shrug. 

"Ya Ace you're one of us now, there is no need for the formalities." Uncle Banner said looking at me from the rear-view mirror. 

"Oh okay so, Steve," I said and watched him nod his head, "You were a science experiment too huh?"

"Well yes I guess you could say that." he said

" Awesome sauce!" I said happy to know that my uncle and I were not the only two with powers that came from a bottle.  "So if you don't mind me asking ... what were the 40's like? I have always loved the time period." 

"Oh well it was quite different from now." He said with a small smirk and a sparkle in his eye, showing that was thinking back to some fond memory. "everything was defiantly a whole lot less expensive and life was just easier, you know? Well I suppose you wouldn't." He said with a chuckle making me smile. 

"interesting." I said. I yawned and looked at the dash board realising that it was already 2 in the morning. I lay my head  back and closed my eyes allowing myself to sink into a deep sleep.

"Hello? Ace? Ace? Alice?" I heard deep voice say my name a few more times before I open my eyes. I was laying on something, no, somebody. I tilted my head up and my eyes met deep green ones. We stared at each other for what felt like forever when Loki broke the moment and made a sort of grunt. I realized what I was doing and pulled my head away quickly feeling myself go tomato red. 

"I..I.. I'm uh sorry thanks for letting me sleep" I said not looking at him. 

"You are welcome, you seemed tired. I just woke you because we are..uh we are here." He said getting out of the car. And I realized I was the only one left in the car.  I scrambled out of the right door in a clumsy manner and ended up hitting Fury with the car door bringing a smile to my face. 

When I hit the ground I felt my feet sink down slightly. I looked down and saw sand. I looked around and realized we were in some sort of desert. 

"Where are we?" I asked.

"We are in New Mexico, close to where they," Fury said pointing at Thor and Loki "usually land when they come to Earth. We have an underground facility tracking all foreign life and I am hoping that Thanos and his army will land here as well. Also if there is a big battle it will be in the middle of no where so hopefully nothing will be destroyed like last time." he finished by giving a pointed look at Loki who simply shrugged. 

"Fair enough," I said with a nod "so were is this little hid-out?" I asked looking around.

"Right here." Fury said before whispering into his walkie talkie. Suddenly a big rectangular prism popped out of the ground. The doors dinged open and I realized it was an elevator. 

We all crammed into it and the doors quickly shot before we flew to the ground. When everyone else got off I was still clinging to the railing. I got some questioning looks and just shrugged them off as i walked out of the elevator. the group started walking so I followed them. 

"What can you do exactly?" Thor asked looking down at me. 

"Good question" Fury said cutting me off before I could answer. I glared at him and he  smiled in response.  Then he turned around and entered a code into some little key pad and two huge doors opened and we all stepped in. 

It took me about 3 seconds to realize that this huge room was.... a training room. 

"AWWWWW FUCK YES!!!!" I yelled running through our little group to get to the front. 

"Told you she would like it" Uncle banner said. 

"Like it? I love it!" I yelled. I felt like a kid on Christmas I spun around and noticed that the room was dome shaped. Then I saw a huge pool of water. And I was a few people dummies, a weight training set, and I was positive that there was some sort of secret obstacle coarse hidden some  where. 

My suspicions were quickly proven correct when I saw the huge table on one side of the room. I turned to look at fury and he gave me a nod. I jumped up and down and flapped out my wings. Everybody sort of jumped away, and I forgot that they had yet to see my wings.  I guess it was sort of surprising seeing a teenage girl with a wing span of 18 ft.   I laughed at their faces and saw my uncle smile. 

"Alright lets do this!" I said running over to the table. Every body else followed and Fury explained to me that i could use all my powers and that I would be timed. "Wait could you put some music on please?" I gave a hopeful smile. Tony pushed fury to the side and hooked up his phone to the  sound system and Back in Black started to blare from speakers around the room. I had to laugh at this because I some how knew that he would pick an AC/DC song. 

I heard a buzzer sound and i took that as my cue. i started running towards the first obstacle of little laser beam shooting robots. This will be easy. I pulled my wings back and walked up to the robots. The aim was good but the stupid things didn't move which gave me an advantage. With a flick of my wrist all of the robots sunk into the ground and were quickly covered up again and it looked as if nothing was even there. I turned and saw some shocked faces along with some impressed ones. 

I continued walking right over the area wher the robots had been just seconds ago. suddenly my foot fell into thin air and I was falling. I laughed at this becase it was hardly even an obstacle.  I spread my wings easily and flew right out. I actually had not planned on using wings so that hopefully the test would be slightly challenging but I threw that idea in the trash as soon as I was given the opertunity to fly. 

The rest of the course was easy and I finished the whole thing in 58 seconds. I swooped in and landed gracefully and walked over to the table. 

"And we have a new record!!!" Tony cheered. I laughed at his enthusiasm. Suddenly I felt somebody touching my wing. I turned around and saw loki with a confused expression while studdying my wings. 

"They are beautiful" he said looking at me for a moment befroe returning his attention back to my wings. I did have to admit that he was correct. They were in fact beautiful. They were a soft gray collor with a few low lights of black on some feathers. 

"Thank you" I said trying to hold back my blush. he only nodded before pulling away, and allowing me to fold my wings back into place. 

"Well I don't know about you guys, but I am starved, how bout we go get some grub and work on finding some stuff out about Thanos?" Clint asked and we all nodded in agreement.
