I got done packing my two suitcases and threw them on my bed.
I heard a knock on my door.
"Chandler?" my mom said slowly opening my bedroom door and walking in.
"What's up?" I asked flopping on my bed with excitement written all over my face.
"I was just checking to see if you were ready to go." she said in a not so exciting tone.
I nodded and looked at her with sadness in my eyes, "I'm ready. I know you don't want me to leave, much less move across the country at that. Especially at my age. But mom, do you know how big of a deal this is? My dreams will come true and I'll finally become what I always wanted to be ever since I was 9. I promise I'll come home to visit you guys and I promise I will call you every morning, afternoon, and night time."
She had tears in her eyes and walked towards me to give me a hug, "I know baby doll. I'm so proud of you. Just promise you'll be good and call me if you need me."
I took in her hug and smiled into her hair, "I promise."
My mom broke lose of our hug and started digging through her pocket. Then she handed me an envelop, "Inside there is your plane ticket to LAX, a debit card, and a credit card."
I nodded to signal I understood what she was saying.
"Use the debit card for simple stuff like tooth brushes, hair stuff, and personal hygiene. And use the credit card for buying the furniture for your apartment, food, uber rides, and just whatever." she paused and then continued "Oh and I'll put $250 on the debit card a week and I'll pay off your credit card at the end of every week, there's no limit on it. Just don't go crazy or take advantage of it." she finished.
"Okay, that sounds good." I said grabbing my suitcases off my bed and keeping the envelope in my hands.**skips car ride to airport**
I walked into the airport with my mom, step-dad, step-sister, step-brother, and my blood brother. Everyone was silent until we got up to the security section, which meant it was time to say goodbye.
I walked over to my step-sister and gave her a hug, "I'm going to miss you and your crazy self. Call or text me whenever and keep me updated." we let go of our hug. I could hear her sniffle a little.
Then I walked over to my step-brother and gave him a tight hug, "Don't get into any trouble with girls while I'm gone I know how you are." I teased him.
"Don't get into any trouble with any boys in LA, I know how you are too." he teased back.
I then walked over to my blood brother and gave him a hug, "I'll miss you and telling you all of my secrets and problems." he said.
I felt a tear of his go down my back, which brought tears to my eyes, "Hey, don't cry now. You can still call me or text me and still tell me that stuff. I'm always here to give you advise." I said pulling away from his hug and then giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Then I walked over to my mom and step dad and gave them both a hug at the same time, "Please call us when you land." my mom said with tears rolling down her face. "Please be safe Chan. I love you so much." my step dad said with a tear in his eye.
I was surprised to hear my step-dad say that because he doesn't really say "I love you" to anyone. He's not a very emotional person, he's one of those people that show their love by giving rather than saying. This was also the first time I've ever seen him cry.
I started crying and pulled them into a closer hug, "I love you guys so much. Thank you for letting me live my dream. Thank you Brandon for being the dad I've never had and for always treating me like your own." I kissed bit of their cheeks.
"FLIGHT 207 TO LOS ANGELES IS READY TO BOARD." the lady on the intercom said.
I took a deep breath and looked at all of my family, "I love you all." I smiled holding back the tears.
"We love you too." they replied in sync.
I grabbed my two bags and walked over to security.
It's time for me to make my dreams come true.
