Finding out

Alex woke up from a bad dream at 1:00 A.M. She texted her boyfriend Jeff to see if he would answer her. They had become very distant. All he would do is read her messages and not reply, sometimes he wouldn't even read them. He would just ignore them or delete them like they were trash. She pressed his name gently on her phone screen and typed "I can't sleep.. I had a nightmare". She looked at the 'ACTIVE NOW' on his details. Yet again he just read it and pushed it off to the side. She sighed and mumbled to herself "fuck it. I'm texting Carter". She typed in his name and and tapped on his picture. She told him the same thing she had told Jeff. She had a responce in less than two seconds, which made her smile a bit that Carter her best friend cared more than her boyfriend who wouldn't speak to her at all. "Oh alex, I'm sorry hun. You can come over if your parents will let you." Was his responce. She smiled a little and went into her mom's room. "Mom can I go over to Carter's house?" Her mom answered half asleep "sure." Alex smiled and kissed her mom's cheek. "Thank you" she spoke softly as she walked out of her moms room, getting her shoes on. She had gotten her essentials phone, charger, an outfit. She already had a tooth brush and and a hair brush at his house. She was over there enough he just got her some stuff. She walked out of her house, the sharp cold air hit her skin and instantly she shook. "S..so c..cold" she mumbled to herself. Getting a block closer to Carter's house she saw a couple. From behind it looked like Jeff and that rude girl from science Arexa. She walked toward them slowly, when they pressed their lips together. She pulled them apart. "Jeff! How could you!! I'm done with you since you would rather be with a judgemental bitch.." Jeff looked at her. "Well she is right about you being a good for nothing nerd" "If she's gonna judge people maybe she should judge the guy who's trying to get in her pants." Alex ran off trying not to cry.

She got to Carter's house with tear stain cheeks. She sat underneath his window sobbing. Carter peaked out his window hearing sounds or crying. He looked down at her, not saying a word he brought out a blanket and sat by her. He pulled her close and gave her the blanket. She buried her face into his chest "Shh.. Tell me what happened hun" alex shook from the cold air. "I'm gonna pick you up and take you inside now.." Carter stood up and peeled her off the ground. He carried her inside and placed her on the couch, then he sat beside her. "J..jeff c..cheated" She blurted out inbetween her sobs and short breaths. He shook his head and sighed, pulling her close again she clung to him for comfort. "I'm gonna make him wish he hadn't done so." "I can't believe he chose Arexa.. Over me a year together.. And he just throws me away like nothing" Alex gripped onto Carter's shoulders and took a deep breath. "Shh" He whispered in her ear. Soon his dad came out, not knowing alex had come over. "What the hell is all the racket?" Soon he looked over at Alex who's sobbing, and walked over to them. He cared for her like a daughter. "Oh my.. Sweetheart whats wrong?" "Dad I'll give you two words.. Jeff cheated.." He shook his head sighing. "I knew that dirtbag wasn't right". Alex clung to Carter and took deep breaths to calm down. Carter rubbed her back to keep her calm. He handed her issues and she cleaned herself up. After 10 minutes of calming breaths and cleaning up her face she passed out on his chest, which was quite normal. She found it comforting. Carter's father covered her up and went to bed again.
