Drag me down
Harry sat down on the floor in the middle of the room watching himself in the full body mirror that covered the wall of the dancing studio. He stopped the music with the remote and dragged a hand through his long hair that had been growing out for a while. All day his ballet teachers had been dragging him down saying that he wasn't good enough for the school. He sat there for a while in the quiet room thinking of how he danced and in what way he could make himself better at dancing.
He was interrupted when someone came into the room slamming the door as loud as possible. Harry turned around and stood up.
"Hi, Harry." Abigail said and dropped her bag on the floor next to the wall. He waved at her and smiled. He grabbed her hand pulling her closer to him. She laughed and kissed him on the lips as he pulled her closer to him and wrapped his arms around her. They broke the kiss but didn't let go of each other yet.
"Well Here she comes disturbing me as always when I'm trying to get extra studio time," He said and she laughed and pulled away from him.
"I know you love it. And If I wouldn't be here you would just be dragging yourself down because of what the teachers says and I need to practice once before auditions" She told him and pulled off her grey jersey leaving her in her black dancing leotard and a light skirt. She grabbed her pointe shoes and sat down on the floor in front of Harry who was sitting there again. She started to tie her shoes around her legs, when she was done she stood up and made a pirouette. Harry stood up and moved to the CD-player to change the piece of music that Abigail was going to dance to. As she started to dance Harry examined her steps and how she danced along to the music. When she was done dancing she sat down in front of Harry again. He was looking at her with such an adoration and admiration. She was a great dancer and she really belonged on a royal ballet stage somewhere preferably in England so Harry could be able to see her and have a future with her.
"What are you thinking about?" Abigail asked and moved closer to him.
"The future," He told her and grabbed her hand kissing her wrist.
"What about the future?" She asked and he smiled and blushed a bit.
"About what would happen to us when you become a professional dancer," He said and she laughed.
"You mean when we become professional dancers," She said and stood up viewing herself in the mirror.
Harry followed her and stood beside her.
"I don't really think that I will become one," He told her and she laughed and faced him.
"If anyone in the academy is to become a professional it is you love" She explained to him and took his hand and continued to talk.
"Don't let anybody drag you down Harry... You are going to achieve great things my love" She said and kissed his cheek and embraced him breathing in his cologne. Harry really thought that Abigail was his rock and he didn't know what he would be or do without her.
"I am not so sure about that Abigail," Harry said and kissed her head and let her go.
"Would you stop that... Just stop being so stubborn all the time and saying that you aren't enough. You wouldn't be in the dancing academy if it weren't for your immensely great dancing. I believe in you and that you will do great things and you should believe in yourself to " She said getting angry with him when he was being so hard on himself and that he kept dragging himself down.
" Trust me one day you're going to win Prix Benois de la Danse" She continued and he scoffed and packed his things up in his sports bag. Harry thought it was hilarious that she thought that he could win Prix Benois de la Danse which is one of the most prestigious ballet competitions the exist.
"If I do that I promise you that I'll make out my speech to you and only you Abigail," He said and gave her a quick kiss and left her there.
Harry took a deep breath as his name was being called out for the speakers. He lifted his head up and greeted the cheering from the crowd with a bright happy smile. Someone handed him a microphone and a large bouquet with flowers.
"Umm. I really don't know where to start. I remember when I was 18 and my girlfriends Abigail told me that I would win Prix Benois de la Danse one day and I doubted it. She always told me that no one was supposed to drag me down and say that I couldn't to anything. And all my life she stood by me from being the insecure man to being the man I am today and thanks her and her love nobody could drag me down. And four years ago I told her if I win Prix Benois de la Danse I would make out my speech about her and that is what I am doing now love, look at me I won" Harry said and looked down at the seat where Abigail were sitting clapping her hands and smiling at him as he talked about her. Nobody can drag me down he thought .
I really hope you liked it and thank all of you for the votes and comments it gladdens me to see that people like it.
