I stare at the clock in front of the lecture theatre as the small hand is on the three and the big hand is on the five, wishing that I was in my bed with a tub of ice cream and a Quentin Tarantino movie marathon. I look back down to my media regulations textbook and sigh; frustrated by the fact that I still haven't mastered the topic in time for tomorrow's exam. I hear the lecture theatre door swing open with a slight creek an in walks Professor Carmichael."What are you doing here at this hour?" Professor asks me as she's startled by my presence in the theatre.
"I have a ruthless professor who would have my balls if i don't study for my class exam tomorrow, plus I have a 6000 word thesis to research for." I reply not looking away from my laptop and books. Professor Carmichael nods her head understandingly before holding up plastic carrier bags with food and alcohol.
"Take a break, join me to eat, then I can help you study." Professor Carmichael offers as I nod my head bringing my laptop and books to the front of the theatre.
"Thanks Professor." I whisper softy before she pours me a tall cup of wine.
"You can call me Erica. Class isn't in session until, five hours from now. Then you can go back to calling me Professor. If I'd known i would bumped into you I'd have brought Whiskey." Erica stretches her arm out, handing me the plastic cup filled with red wine.
"It's fine, I actually have a better taste for wine anyway." I reassure Erica as I sip on the dark red beverage. She smirks at me before opening the Chinese packages. She hands me a pair of chopsticks before camping out on the floor and I join her; sitting directly opposite of her and digging into some spiced noodles.
"Sooo... Erica. What brings you to campus at half past three in the morning with alcohol and takeout?" I ask my attractive lecturer and she shakes her head.
"I just like to come here and write a lesson plan. It's kinda chaotic at home. My sister had a baby so I cannot sleep or work.
"I understand. I grew up with the loudest older sister ever. I love her but I did contemplate killing her." Erica giggles at my statement taking a small bite of her stewed dumpling.
"You've got some.... Stew on the edge of your lips." I say as I reach for her face and remove the stew from her lips with my thumb. She gives me a small smile which I kindly return.
An hour extra has gone past and Erica and I have talked about her media company and how she earned millions by the age of 26 and became a lecturer by 30. Slightly tipsy and enjoying one another's company, Erica and I continue to discuss our lives; I pause before looking into her gorgeous green eyes and smile.
"You've had quite the life Erica. Is there anything that you haven't done?"I ask wondering if someone who's had immense success and a happy upbringing has any longings or regrets.
"Yeah, I wish I took the time to date more. After I built Filmscape and Carmichael Media, it seems like guys were off the table because I had two multi million pound businesses to run." Erica dips her head to the ground sadly before pouring herself the last of the wine, downing the liquor down her throat in one gulp.
"You're gorgeous, you can still get any guy you want." I say brushing a piece of her short and curly hair to the back of her head. I remove my head quickly, scratching my head awkwardly as I realise that I was flirting with my teacher.
"Anyone? You think so?" Erica enquires and I nod my head shyly playing with my fingers. Erica leans in towards me and my body makes an instinctual move and gravitates towards her too. Our lips brush slightly, feeling Erica's breath on my skin sends me over the edge and I kiss her passionately.
