"I talked to him again at lunch on the phone yesterday," Betty said to her best friend. "Why can't you just get marriage counseling and get this all straightened out? Dump the other guy you're with, and stay with your husband." Angel retorted. Betty felt guilty at the thought of the conversations she had previously with Alan. "Girl, she's right" Lana said with a full mouth of food. At the end of "right," a big piece of food flew out of her mouth and landed on the table. "Last night, I made plans with Damien to go see a movie, but I heard Alan's key turning in the door. I dreaded hearing his key in the lock." All of her friends stared at her with wild looks, and couldn't believe what their best friend has getting herself into.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, Angel spoke with an unusual tone. "In my opinion, I think you've taken this too far. I mean, what is so bad about your marriage? If I had a husband like that, I'd be so thrilled that I'd make him a sandwich." Though a serious comment, both Lana and Betty laughed. It seemed as if it would release tension between the table. As the laughter soon reduced and went silent, a man in a dark suit sitting behind him ruffles his paper. His face went unseen, and his partner's as well. No one really noticed. "I'm unhappy with Alan. He's beautiful, but we don't spend time together. We don't do anything anymore. All he does is come home at late hours, and sleeps when he's home. How do I not know HE'S cheating on me?" Another dark stare forms from her friends. They both seem to form a scowl on their face, almost like they're disgusted. Less than a second later, she feels like more than her friends are watching her, yet she doesn't know where from.
"It's revolting if you ask me. You assume that your husband's cheating on you, partially because of the fact he works hard enough for you guys to have a two story house. With a pool, a work room, a gym, and you don't even have a job? Seriously, Betty. Get it together. Until you sort all of this out, I'm leaving you two to yourselves" Lana said as she got up from the table, pushed her seat in, and began to walk away. Before she could make it out of the door, the man behind them stands up, and reveals his face. It was Alan. All three had the most shocked looks on their face, as the second man stands up, and reveals his face as well. Damien and Alan stood side by side, both staring menacingly at Betty. "That's how you feel, Betty?" Alan stated. "Alan and I have worked with each other for years." Damien and Alan were having a business meeting, before they heard the news. Damien had no clue that they were with the same woman, but Alan figured out by how frequently she avoided him, and how he checked her Facebook messages. Alan took a deep breath and opened his jacket to expose the bombs intertwined with each other, lining his entire torso. He had a string attached. "No!!" she said, but as soon as she ran for him, it was too late. He pulled the string, and there was nothing but light.
The next day, all of the victims that died included all 5, as well as many more. What they both didn't know, was that Betty was pregnant. She would never find out who it belongs to.
Days go by since the dreadful accident. Just yesterday, people started to line flowers and signs saying "forever missed," lined the burnt foundation.
