As soon as Justice got home she was greeted by her loving sister Passion.
"You know I had to cover up for you again right ?"
"I know I'm sorry."
"It's cool." She smiled hugging her little sister.
"Momma's gon' be away for a while, apparently she's gone on some pilgrimage."
Justice sucked her teeth. "Really ?"
"Yeah and we not in the choir no more."
"What ?" Justice hated to admit that she loved singing in the choir, it brought joy to her sundays.
"Momma took us out, something's up. She's changing for worse than she already is."
Passion was more than right, Cherelle was becoming something they'd never expect from her.
Justice looked down at her Nokia, only 8:30.
"Carlo and daddy called, gotta meet them at Dina's in a half hour." Passion smiled as she watched her sisters face light up.
"What we waiting for ? We gotta take the bus remember ?"
After taking two buses it was 5 past 9, Justice and Passion were finally at Dina's.
Justice spotted the table where her family was at then went to greet them.
Carlo and Chris. Her brother and father in the flesh.
"My two baby girls, how y'all been lately ?" Chris smiled.
"Fine I guess." Passion sighed.
"How y'all get here ?" Carlo asked "Wasn't Cherelle at home."
"Bus and nah this the first time I came home and she wasn't there."
In the corner of Dina's, Cherelle sat with her head down. She knew things had been different lately , Passion and Justice had been keeping secrets from her.
They were all dead to her now.
"Baby you coming home with me tonight ?" Smokey asked touching her bare thigh.
She was going to have to go against everything she believed in because she was in love with her ex husbands rival, one of the biggest kingpins in the state. Cherelle planned to help him take out Chris's team and her so called family.
"Oh I'm not just coming home with you tonight, I'm moving in baby,"
Cherelle knew she wouldn't be needing any of her old clothes, after all Smokey was balling.
Cherelle didn't know out of the corner of his eye Chris had spotted Cherelle with Smokey knowing he'd have to protect his daughters but he never knew it would happen so soon.
They had all caught up on so much. Smokey and Cherelle had already left.
Chris handed Justice two emerald green duffle bags. "Only open it when you get home."
Justice nodded.
"There's a pink 2013 Toyota Corolla out front." Chris continued handing her two pairs of keys and directions to an address. "Drive straight to it, pink keys for the car. Silver for the house. No questions get ghost now."
Justice did as she was told, Passion following her lead as so many unanswered questions crowded their minds.
Justice followed the directions which led her to the nicest house she'd ever seen.
