If they just knew, I thought, sitting at work about one month later.

One month and Moriarty still had not contacted me. I wondered if he still would.

During that month, I got relieved day by day, figuring he'd forgotten about me, even though Moriarty had not really intimidated me as much as I had expected.

I looked at the keys of my computer keyboard as I typed when I suddenly heard someone step into my office.

"Can I help you?", I asked, looking up at the one who had just entered.

It was a blonde man, maybe around 40 years old, dressed in a simple grey, striped suit.

"Yes, I hope so", he answered, sitting down on the chair in front of my desk before he shook my hand.

"Frank Harrison. I work for the government."

"For the government? Why do you seek my advice? What help do you need from the secret service?"

I suddenly got a really bad feeling. What if he was a disguised inspector who had found out about my past?

"Not particularly from the secret service. I need your help. I know of... well... Your encounter with Moriarty."

All colour left my face.

He knew it. Would he have me arrested? Put me into prison for the rest of my life?

"I need you to spy on him."

"Sorry, what?"

What the devil was going on? Instead of arresting me, which would have been quite logical, he wanted me to help him?

"Don't you know how dangerous he is?", I asked Harrison. "He organises everything that scares the civilians and makes this country unsafe, and god knows how much larger his network is."

"I know", he replied, not really looking as if he cared about that. "That's why I need you to tell me everything about what he does, who he works with and what he is planning to do."

I sat there for a while, not knowing what to say. Fortunately, he went on.

"Look, I'll make it easier. If you should get into any kind of life danger, or if he should find out, I'll help you disappear."

"But don't you see? That's what he does. People of his network. They help people disappear, just as well as they can detect people who are hiding from them."

"I promise you, I will manage to get you in a safe environment if something should happen. Please. This man is no man the world has ever seen before. He is probably more dangerous than all criminal organisations in America combined. You need to help me stop him."

Help them stop him, or work for him? What should I choose? My good conscience told me to help Harrison, but I certainly knew that I'd be way better at working for Moriarty.

"I will."

After my response, Harrison and I talked about how he would contact me, then he left, leaving me ruminative in my office.
