Beyonce

"Alright, here we are." Mama said pulling up to the front of my new high school. She had this big smile on her face, she looked proud. I don't know why, it's not like I'm graduating.

I unbuckled my seat belt and grabbed my backpack from under the seat. I looked at my mom before opening the door. "Don't look so nervous, Ma." I said kissing her cheek. "I'm just scared, Bey. You're not a little girl anymore." Ma said, she had the biggest smile on her face. She caressed my cheek, before kissing my hand.

"I love you, Ma." I said getting out the car. "I love you too! You be careful now." She warned. I waved her off as I walked into the building. "Welcome to Montview High." Some girl at the door said. She slammed a school paper into my chest, throwing me back a little.

She looked me up and down before rolling her eyes. She was wearing a varsity jacket with the schools initials and colors on it, I think she was apart of student gov or something. "You slam a paper into my chest and then you have the nerve to look me up and down?" I asked raising a brow.

She scuffed and waved me off doing the same thing to the next kid who walked through the door. I rolled my eyes walking away. I threw the paper in the garbage, grabbing my schedule from my bag.

I looked for my locker number. "Locker 206 combo 2-17-44." I said to myself. "Damn, now I know where to drop off the valentines." Some kid said behind me. I turned around to face some brown skinned kid. he had a smile plastered on his face. He was cute.

"I'm sorry?" I asked. The kid laughed, stuffing his hands in his pockets and looking at his feet before looking back up. "I'm Tremaine." He said sticking his hand out for me to shake. I smiled taking his hand in mine. "Beyonce." I replied back.

"Beyonce." He repeated. He smiled at me and kept eye contact. "Nigga, what the hell are you doing?" Some light skin said walking up to us. Tremaine and I quickly removed our hands, and stepped back from each other.

The kid was taller than me, he had freckles, and brown eyes. He walked over to tremaine, doing some bro shake. "Who is this?" He asked referring to me. "This is Beyonce." Tremaine said smiling at me making me blush.

"I'm Chris." The light skin said. He stuck his hand out for me to shake and I accepted shaking his hand. "What class do you have?" Chris asked, he stepped back into his previous spot next to tremaine. I looked down at my schedule, looking for my first period. "Uh, I have English with Mr.Daniels." I said looking back up at Chris and Tremaine. "I have that class too." Chris said. "Damn, I have earth systems." Tremaine said rolling his eyes. Chris laughed at tremaine.

"Sucks for you. Me and Bey gon' be writing essay's while you're learning about plants." Chris teased. "Bey?" I asked smiling at Chris. Chris looked back at me smiling. "Saying Beyonce all the time will get tiring for a young one, so i'ma call you Bey." Chris said. I laughed a little. "This nigga." Tremaine said. We all started laughing. "Grinch at 3 'o clock." Chris said looking away. I pushed my brows together giving tremaine a confused look. His eyes shot up and I turned around to see what he was looking at.

The same light skin girl from earlier was walking in our direction, with attitude written all over her walk. I rolled my eyes then turned back around looking at Chris. "What's her problem?" I asked. I felt someone brush pass me, making me knock my bag out of my hand. I sighed and bent over to pick it up, when I stood back up miss thang was in my face. She just glared at me.

"Can I help you with something?" I asked. I was unfazed by this girl, I could already tell me and her was not gon' get along this year. "Is there a reason you're talking to my boyfriend?" She asked. Now I was lost. "Who's your boyfriend?" I asked. "That biscuit colored negro trynna hide from me." She said pointing at Chris. I looked over to see a nervous Chris, slowly turning to face us.

"Wassup Karrueche?" Tremaine said walking over to standnext to me. The girl looked at him rolling her eyes, looking back at me. "Are you going to answer me or are you going to look like a lost puppy?" The girl snapped. I raised my brow at her. "Babygirl, you got one more time to talk to me like that." I said pointing at her. She laughed looking at the ground.

"You must not know who I am." She said stepping up to me. "I don't care for who you are. All I know is you better back up before you get a hand printed to the side of your face." I said. Tremaine stepped in pulling me back. "Babe, chill out. We was just talking damn!" Chris said pulling miss thang to the side. "Are you really gonna defend this thing?" She said pointing at me. I just glared at her.

"You come up here trynna start some shit and she ain't even do nothin." Chris said. She rolled her eyes, putting her hand in his face. "Whatever, have fun with your friends." She said walking away. "Bye Kae!" Tremaine shouted. He laughed letting me go. Chris walked up to him punching his chest. "Stop that." Chris said. I laughed seeing the serious look on Chris' face. Chris looked at me, lightening his facial expression.

"I'm sorry about karrueche. She can get a little jealous sometimes." Chris said, he scratched the back of his head looking at the ground. "Mhm." I said. "Her jealousy gon' get her cut if she ever comes at me like that again." I said. Chris laughed shaking his head. "Alright, are y'all ready to go to class?" Tremaine asked. He clapped his hands together, smiling wide.

Me and Chris both nodded our heads and started walking down the hallway together.
