Peyton Sawyer was left as an orphan when she was not even one day old. Her mother died in labor, due to blood loss, and her father denied that she was his. Therefore, Peyton has grown up on her own in the system with her life long friend Jake Brown. Jake and Peyton met when they were just kids at the age of five, fighting over the last slice of pizza. They stuck together ever since.
Jake and Peyton helped each other through the good and bad times, until the age of 14. One winter evening, Jake was walking home from his under the table job when a drunk driver slammed into him. Peyton couldn't bear the news and has been a sad, depressed girl ever since. She lost any light she saw in her life. She questioned her purpose and why she was here. Was she here to be tormented? Why? She was like this for two years till one glorious afternoon when the light was visible again. Peyton Sawyer was being adopted into a family in Tree Hill with an 17 year old son.
This was the day Peyton's life took turn in another direction; a brighter direction.
