Luke watched as the remainder of the rebel fleet took flight from Endor. They were to fly all over the galaxy to fight off any imperial ships still loyal to the Empire. Most sectors had immediately lost all control after the emporer's death, now was the time to strike. It would not be long before Senator Leia Organa arrived at Coruscant and wiped out any last remnants of the Empire. They would hold an immediate vote for new leadership and a new group of senators from each system of the New Republic.
Peace had finally been restored. Luke looked over at what remained of his father's burned armor. He remembered Yoda's words to him on his death bed "The last of the Jedi will you be." He closed his eye's. No. He could not go to Coruscant, not after everything that had happened, his battle had been finished. He packed his supplies into his X-Wing. He climbed into the cockpit and R-2 set course for Curiscant. "No R-2", Luke said. "We arnt going to Curoscant, we are going home."
Curoscant
Leia and Han sat in the court chamber in the senate building. Newly elected Chancellor Mos Misa stands, her white robes casting a somewhat light appearance in the old courtroom. "Welcome representatives to the first meeting of the New Republic. I as your Chancellor swear to uphold peace. I will stand by the laws in which this Republic is founded and will resign when my jurisdiction is no longer supported by the senate."she stated confidently. Applause was heard throughout the court room.
Han looked at Leia, her hair was up in braids and she wore her general's jacket. "Do you think she will be a good leader?" He asked her.
Leia did not smile and did not take her eye's off of Mos Misa, "we worked beside each other many years fighting the Empire, she is wise and will keep peace for the time" she spoke slowly.
Han smirked "Now what princess?"
She finally looked over at him and smiled "Life goes on." She looked back up at the court, the representatives applauded again to the Chancellors speech.
