Let me tell you something being in a car with your mother for 34 hours is horrible only because she wanted to play ridiculous road games that she and everyone knows I frown upon. Yes, hate me all you want but I know I’m not the only one that loathes those stupid games that have no defiant ending.
“We’re here!” says my mother how she’s this happy at the moment is beyond me because I have the worst fucking case of car lag ever invented and if you’ve never experienced car lag don’t that’s all I have to say it’s definitely not worth it.
“Finally.” I mumble mostly to myself but from the laugh coming from next to me I know she heard. Looking out my window my eyes fall upon a beautiful two story house it’s a light blue with white shutters and it’s tied together with a dark brown door.
I look in awe at our new home although it’s the same stories as our last house it still seems to be bigger and I love it especially the in ground pool in the back.
“You like it huh?” my mother is particular staring at me like the house needs my seal of approval. Looking around from the house to the neighborhood then back to my mother “It’ll have to do I guess” grinning at my mother and nodding my head knowing she knows I like it just as much as she does.
“You guys must be the Parker’s? I’m Lydia I live next door. My mom and I saw you guys pull in. Would you like some help?” the sound of a girl my age invades my ears and before I am able to speak up my mom beats me to it. “Why thank you Lydia and sure if your family wouldn’t mind.” beams my mom with a friendly smile on her face.
“You can call me Jamie and this is my daughter Georgette.” the warmth and friendliness never leaving my mom’s voice and this is the time that I finally look over my new neighbor she’s gorgeous.
Her shoulder length brown curly hair and light brown eyes match her warm and bubbly personality. “It’s nice to meet you.” I finally speak up looking at Lydia with a smile. “Lydia did you meet the neighbors yet?” yells a women’s voice that resembles Lydia and soon we’re all looking at a women that looks extremely like Lydia who I realize is her mother.
“Yes mother.” Lydia laughs “This is Georgette and her mom Jamie.” she exclaims. “It’s good to meet you two. You can call me Sarah. Would you like any help unpacking? We have no problem with helping do we Lydia?” says Sarah we all laugh knowing that Lydia already offer but nonetheless we shake our heads yes and we all walk to the U-Haul to start what we knew would take hours to unload.
Lydia and I start grabbing all of my marked boxes while my mom and Sarah grab the others. “Oh, Georgette any room it’s your choice.” Smiles my mother from the bottom of the stairs. Lydia and I smile at each other and I holler an okay to my mom from over my shoulder and enter the house.
Our furnisher had arrived a couple of days before we left but other than that the inside is just as beautiful as the outside.
I dash up the stairs with Lydia right on my heels looking left and right we head to the left down the hall way to an adjacent door. Bumping my hip on the door to open it my breathe catches in my throat.
The room is a deep lavender color with plush white carpet. My dresser is off to the right below the TV on the wall. To the left is a white desk which is next to a closet that even from the outside looks huge. Lydia and I place the boxes we were carrying on my king size bed that laid against the far wall a few feet away from a gorgeous bay window looking out to the back yard.
“We have time to gawk later boo we got to get the rest of the stuff out the moving truck and in here so we can start putting it all away.” Laughed Lydia as we both looked around my room.
