Note: Starfish and Sea Stars are the same thing, using two different names.
1) Sea stars have no brains and no blood. Their nervous system is spread through their arms and their "blood" is actually filtered sea water.
2) A starfish is roughly twice as tall as a tea cup, in its adult form.
3) The thing sea stars are most famous for, aside of their distinctive shapes, is their ability to regenerate limbs, or - in some cases - entire bodies.
4) Starfish can grow to up to 5kg in weight, and 24cm in size.
5) A sea star's tiny feet, which are suction-cupped, are used to pry open the shells of oysters and clams - then, its sack-like stomach oozes out of its mouth, and folds over the creature to digest it. After this, the starfish's mouth reenters its body.
6) A starfish's skeleton is on the outside of its body, making it an exo-skeleton.
