Love's pretense, just playing the game. Telling them what they want to hear. Giving in out of weakness and fear. Not wanting to be alone, makes those three words so easy to say. Can't they see that I don't feel the way they feel? Love's pretense, just having fun. Going along for the ride. Taking everything in stride, out of selfishness and pride. My heart is frozen, I don't really care how much pain or despair I cause when they find out that their feelings I don't share. Love's pretense. How can I give what I've never had? Though my lack of love doesn't make me sad, because of all of the fun I had going through love's pretense.
