Chapter 4

Brandon Pov

Instead of going to lunch hour that day, I take a trip to Wyatt's now trashed "home". I take a few pictures with my phone, looking through the windows so the cops can see the damage. With my luck, I find an empty can of spray paint with "Wyatt" written on it in thick blue ink. I use my jacket to pick it up, being careful to not put fingerprints on it. I walk to the police station, which happens to be very close to school, and I show the cops the pictures and I hand over the evidence. A very nice police officer tells me that if the prints on the spray nozzle match Wyatt's, he can get arrested. Exactly what I wanted. I go back to school and during passing period, I get a call from the station. It's the same officer that told me he could get artested. He says, "Brandon, the prints match. We are sending a squad car to the school." Before he gets the chance to hang up, I stop him. "Sir?" I ask. "What is it, son?" I suddenly get a jolt of guilt. "Can I please remain anonymous?" I ask, my voice shaking. "Of course boy-o." He hangs up. Right when I look up, I see a squad car outside the window. There is an officer walking out to meet a teacher. I take a closer look and think, "That's not a teacher, that's Lena!" Uh-oh. I see Lena nod. While a cop follows, she turns around and walks down the hallways and into a classroom. A few minutes later, Wyatt and Lena and the cop walk out. The officer states , "You are being arrested for the destruction of government property." Wyatt is put in handcuffs and given his rights. The officer takes him out of the school and that is the last I saw of Wyatt.
