Bree stared at the phone for a minute. She didn't say anything. She didn't know what to think. She checked the time and date of the text just to make sure she wasn't misunderstanding. It was just as she thought...The text was new. Her mind raced a million times per second. Was Melanie in Germany? And, if so, when did she get there? Why was she in Germany? When did Bobby see her? There were too many unanswered questions, so Bree decided she would just ignore the text...for the time being only. She closed the text and went to playing Angry Birds...although her mind was clearly elsewhere.
The driver dropped them off at a small American diner that made them all miss home. Bobby held the door open for Bree and smiled at her, but she couldn't smile back. Breakfast was abnormal for the entire group. Under normal conditions they'd be laughing and chatting all the way through the meal. However today, they were unusually quiet. Drew was still weirded out by his intense fan. Chels was becoming frustrated with that whole situation too. Bree was focused on that text that she had seen, and Bobby was searching his brain trying to guess what had made Bree's mood change. David was a little more lighthearted. He spent the entire time smiling while texting on his phone. Bexx observed the odd mood at the table.
She whispered to Jayk, "What is up with everyone? Look."
"I know. It's like we all forgot how to socialize."
"We have to do something about this."
Jayk smiled, "I know what we all need....a Party....tonight."
Bexx smiled at Jayk. A party was a perfect idea. It would definitely help break whatever tension there was. Jayk immediately went to texting all of the friends he had made in Germany. While everyone was on the way back to the hotel, Jayk broke the news about the party. Everyone thought it was a great idea. The guys even began inviting their own Germany peeps.
When they all reached the lobby of the hotel, Bobby grabbed Bree's waist. "What's the matter babe? You've been quiet all morning."
"Nothing. I'm just tired." Bree lied. Bobby was about to ask more questions when the concierge interrupted him.
"Mr. Edner sir, I have mail for you," the man said in a heavy German accent. Bobby kissed Bree on the cheek and followed the concierge to the front desk. Bree went for the elevator. Oddly enough, she found herself alone with David.
"Are you okay?" David asked when he finally looked up from his phone.
"Yeah. I'll be fine." Then she changed the subject, "So, what have you been smiling at all morning?....Is she pretty?"
David laughed, "Am I that obvious? It's just a fan that I met at one of the shows. She's umm...entertaining."
Bree could tell from David's tone that he wasn't serious about this girl, but she still felt uncomfortable with the idea of him dating. Even though she chose Bobby, her feelings for David were still there. A five year crush doesn't go away over night. The elevator doors opened and their two minute conversation was over.
When Bree got back to her room, Bexx was there...and she was alone for once. Jayk hardly ever left her side these days. Bree was glad she was there.
"Bexx, I need to talk to you," Bree said still contemplating how much of the story she was going to tell Rebecca.
"What's up?" Rebecca said while closing the magazine she was reading.
"Well, it's guy-talk."
"You can tell me anything."
Bree knew that was true, but still decided to tell Bexx only the bare minimum. "You remember Melanie right?"
"Bobby's ex? Sure."
