Cas sat at home watching television. He was curled up with a blanket watching a cooking show while dinner cooked. "Dinner" being a microwaveable chicken pie. Hearing a knock at the door he stood up.

Everyday he hoped, prayed it was Dean coming home. It had been five years, three months, and two since Dean left for Afghanistan. Cas had been counting the days since he left.

Cas stood near the door, taking a deep breath, he opened it.

"Hi Cas." Dean's boice was soft but, gruff and calm.

Cas felt tears brim as he saw Dean, in his uniform, with his duffle bag. He smiled softly and tried not to cry.

Dean hugged Cas tightly and Cas hugged back, inhaling Dean's scent. Mint, old tires, and beer. That never changed. Cas sighed softly and burried his face in the crook of Dean's neck as he felt Dean's lips on his temple.

Joy filled the both of them at being able to see the other, instead of just remember them.

"I'm home Cas." Dean said softly, causing Cas to let out a chuckle mixed with a quiet sob.

The words Dean just spoke repeated themselves in Cas' head.

I'm home.
