I just want to start off by saying that, I was working on other books, but I had to stop and write about this. This shocked my family, friends, and especially me. What makes this story scarier, is that I was all alone in my Chicago home. Here is what happened. Enjoy. I awake from my nap, it is Saturday. February 13, 2016. I would say at around 5:45PM, it is already dark outside. My mom is at work, my older brother is at the gym, and my dad & sisters are at church. I am personally not a fan of church, so I stayed at home. My dad & sisters had just left when my younger sister texted me "Hey get ready. After church we are going to pick you up to go eat." Since I take forever to get ready, I got up. I was ready in thirty minutes. I thought to myself "They should be coming out soon." I got my headphones, and a book to keep myself entertained. I sat in the kitchen listening to Amy Winehouse and on Snapchat with one of my friends. I took off my glasses because they fit me kind of tight at the sides. Fifteen minutes later or so I finally heard the front door bell. "Oh great they are here." I thought to myself, I put on my glasses. We have two doors. The one in the front is missing a screw so if it is opened, it will fall. I was on my way to the back door, getting ready to open the door when something in my mind told me "Don't go." And I started to have a weird feeling in my chest. This time whoever it was, was ringing it more than five times now and were pounding on the window. I recorded the whole thing on Snapchat with the caption "I am literally crying. Someone is pounding on the window." I posted it on my Snapchat story and sent it to my friend. I also thought it was a joke my sisters made up. We always play pranks on each other. I made my way to the front window. I still had hopes that it was my dad & sisters. As I pulled one of the shades, my heart skipped a beat. There was a man literally standing on the other side looking back at me. He was dirty, had on all black, and the look on his face was something I will never forget. He looked armed. I jumped, but showed no crazy reaction because if I did he might think I will call the cops and he will definitely break in here to kill me. I just shook my head as if to open the door for him. But when I knew I was out of his sight. I sprinted upstairs. My dog was barking hysterically downstairs. I had no time to get him. I quickly dialed my brother. At this point I was already freaking out. "Call back in five minutes if he is still there." He said. At this point the doorbell wasn't heard anymore, but the sound of his fists against the window. After the call I was calling for my dog. He just wouldn't come. When he finally did come upstairs. I had no time to be nice to him. I threw him in my sisters room and closed the door. I thought to myself "My mom is at work, my brother is at the gym (which is far), and my dad & sisters are at church." I quickly dialed 911. I was so scared I couldn't speak clearly. When the call was done, I did more recording on Snapchat just in case I went missing. After that I went into my sisters room and grabbed my dog. I quickly ran into my room, shut the door, put a chair on the door knob, and put my dog in some corner. It was dark. With the screen of my phone, I looked around for anything I can use as a weapon, I found some sort of hammer. I was going to go get a knife at the kitchen, but I heard the pounding at my back door now, which is the door to the kitchen, basically. My room is in the front, but at the top. I could see everything. My sister texted me "We are on our way." I quickly dialed her and told her not to come. That there is a man outside and he looks armed. The thought of this made me panic and I started crying. This man was literally trying to get in. The pounding got louder and louder. I grabbed my dog and unlocked the window just in case if the man broke in I could get out through the front. I was still on the line with my sister. I was just waiting for the moment when I would hear the glass break so I can leave through the window. The pounding stopped, but one minute later it continued back in the front. I saw this man back up and look directly at my window, I tried not to move or else he will see me. I got a text from my neighbor and the LED flash went off. "Fuck." I whispered to myself, but I will honor my neighbor for that, because he might of thought I took a picture. He backed up even more and walked away quickly, but as I saw him leaving he kept looking back at my house. Five minutes later I saw the police outside my house. "The police is here." I told my sister and I felt relieved. I hung up and ran downstairs, I got my keys, and went through the back, I locked the door just in case the man came around through the the back. I ran to the front with my dog in my arms and cried even more. Three officers questioned me and asked how long ago he left. And the moment I said "Not long ago." They told me to lock my gate (which was unlocked) and they got in their car and drove off quickly. Usually when the police finds the suspect they come back and let you know. They didn't come back at all. Which means that man is possibly still out there. And I have to be prepared when he does come back. And then I think to myself. What would have happened if I did leave through the back thinking it was my dad & sisters.
