Cold

One day a little girl swam into the deep blue sea.

She swam with all the fishes through the water weeds

After playing tag and collecting shells, she had a dream

Of a palace of pearl, a young red maid of royalty

Little did the girl know

That this red maid,

would become her greatest foe.

Ursula swam back and forth, taking rapid laps around the brightening cave. She beat her tail faster and faster, trying to escape from the warmth of her tears. Her bawling had stopped long ago, but the tears could not be restrained. Inside, Ursula was cold. Hard. She felt nothing. Flotsam and Jetsam had left around 15 minutes ago with Marina's body, and since then, Ursula had decided a few things. First was that she would stop crying, but she decided to settle for a cease of sobbing instead. Second, was that she couldn't allow herself to feel the pain or sadness over her sister's death any longer. She wasn't trying to forget Marina, no, far from it. She needed to remember her sister more than ever now. She needed to remember her sister, her perfect sister, innocent and pure and completely undeserving of her fate. She needed to shut the sadness out, and let her anger fuel her from here. It was down to her, Ursula, to avenger Marina. She would defeat Triton. She would take him down. Shove a dagger in his chest and twist it, inflicting the same pain upon him that he had so carelessly made her subject to. A shadow flickered in her peripheral vision. She whipped around. Drifting at the mouth of the cave were Flotsam and Jetsam. Ah, her saviors. The only light in this darkness. With an expressionless face she swam forward to meet them and discuss their plan. As she neared, her cold facade broke for a second, as she saw a thin string of flesh in the corner of Flotsam's mouth and sharp nausea gripped her. Taking deep breaths, she composed herself.

"Is everything taken care of?"

"Yesss, dear," two purple scales fell out of Jetsam's mouth as he and his twin spoke in unison.

"Good. Are you ready to leave?"

"Are you sssure you are readyyy to leave ssso sooon?"

"I'm ready. Take me to the Sea Witch."
