I woke up to my Android going off. I didn't have a iPhone like most girls my mom couldn't afford it. I stepped out and my bed and looked at myself in the mirror. It was a Sunday and I wanted to go shopping the first day of college was tomorrow and I have to look presentable. I called up my besfriend Rebecca.

Rebecca: Hey girl what's up

Miami: you feel like going shopping with me today

Rebecca: yea ill be over in a hour

Miami: k see you

I hung up the phone and decided to make me something to eat before getting dress I went into the living room to see my mom talking on the phone with someone and my sisters sleeping on the floor by her.

"Mom"

"Hold on. Yes Miami"

"I wanted to see if its OK if I go shopping with Becca ( Rebecca) today?"

"Yea but I won't be able to give you any money."

My mom was a single parent her and my dad were never together. Rumor has it that they were in love but when my mom told my dad that she was pregnant he dipped. I live with my mom, 3 sisters and my older brother I'm the 2nd oldest. All I fully know about my dad is that his name was Soloman. But mostly everybody call him Soul. I have a picture of him that my mom gave me after me asking about him so much she decided to give me the picture.

"OK"

I went into the kitchen and decided to make some cereal. I got out my favorite cereal Reese's puff. I got the milk and poured a bowl. I went to my room closed my door and ate my cereal at my desk. I checked my Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Kik. After I was done I went to go and pick my outfit out. I decided to wear my marvel sweater, tiedie blue and white high waisted skinny jeans, black shirt, black adidas.

When I put my outfit on I looked at myself in my mirror on my wall. I checked my self out. I was a tall skinny, darkskim girl I barely had boobs and butt was out of the question I had a little something but not that much at least not as much a 19 year old girl should have. After I was fully done checking myself out I did my hair. I had long hair for a black girl my mom was mixed with black, Indian, white. But I was mostly black from my dad from what I hear. I braided a braid in the front of my hair and left the rest down. I went into the bathroom brushed my teeth and wash my face and put deodorant on and went back to my room.
I got my purse ready I put my keys, wallet, phone charger,chap stick and headphones in it As soon as I was done I heard a horn honk. I knew it was Becca she never go out the car or texted me to tell me she was her. I told my mom and sisters good bye and I left. I got into Becca's truck her parents gave her for her 16th birthday. She was 4 years older than me.

I was about to leave the house when my step-sister Jaydah stopped me.

"Where you going Mimi"

"I'm going shopping with Rebecca"

"Did you ask Momma"

"Nah Jay I'm just gonna go without her permission"

"No need to get a attitude"

Jay went to her room and I left. Jaydah was my step-sister a couple years ago my mom got married to this guy named Jonah. They were married for 3 years when he left he sent a letter saying he already had a family and wasn't gonna be able to take care of us. He left my older brother (Demarcus) and my older sister (Jaydah) he said he wasn't gonna be able to take care of them. By then my momma was pregnant and Jonah didn't know. She decided it would be best if we didn't tell him.

"Sorry it took me so long Jay was all up in my business"

"It's fine I was in the phone with Davion"

Davion was Rebecca's boyfriend they have been dating for a year. I've meet home a couple of times he's a pretty chill dude from what I seen at least. We headed to the mall.

" How much money did you bring Miami?"

"Let me see I had 500 saved up from work. What about you?"

"Davion gave me some money which was 500 then I got another 500 so 1 grand"

I didn't know what type of job Davion had buy him and Rebecca were always wearing the nicest clothes. The first place we decided to go to was foot locker. I wasn't gonna be able to buy anything to expensive so I decided to buy some all black rocos, black and white Adidas and white and gold Adidas, Adidas jacket. I couldn't find a employee that wasn't busy with a customer, so I just sat and waited.

" Excuse me so you need help with anything?"

I looked up to see a tall lightskin with curly hair he was kinda cute if I must say. He had a employee shirt on so I assumed he was asking me if I needed help finding anything.

"Yea I do would you be able to get me these shoes in a size 9 in women's"

" yes I'll have that right out for you. Oh by the way my name is Jeremiah and yours is?"

"Miami"

"OK Miami I'll have those shoes right out for you"

He went to the back and grabbed the shoes. While he was doing that I was wondering where Becca went right when we entered the store she vanished. I was lookin around for her when someone tapped my shoulders. I jumped up in surprise.

"Sorry I didn't mean to surprise you I was just bringing the shoes out for you"

"Oh your fine thank you"

I tried the shoes on and all of them fit.

"Would you like me to bring these up for you?"

"Yes thank you"

We went to the register and he checked all of my item out for me.

"Your total will be $255"

I gave him my money.

"Have a nice day Miami. I hope to see you around"

I blushed a little when he said that I've never had a boy say that to me before.

"I hope to see you around too Jeremiah"

I left the register and finished searching for Becca. When I couldn't find her in the store I decided to call her.

Miami: hey where are you?

Becca: I'm at Victoria Secret you were to busy talking to some fine dude I didn't wanna disturb you

Miami:Girl whatever I'm on my way
