The Girl

She sat on the floorboards of the wooden hut. It was the wooden hut that was elevated by four wooden posts and was positioned where the grassy fields met the beach. A village was ten miles from the hut and was full of spiritual, tropical, tanned people ranging from young to old. But this morning the girl's mind was not on any of this, no she sat with her legs cris-crossed and her hands resting on her legs, palms up. Playing a song, the raindrops scattered down the sloping metal roof- the kind of metal that reminded you of the texture of crimped paper. Her plain mellow sunset orange dress waved a little as the gentle wind blew through the doorway. Hours blew by and the girl did not move. No one came or went and even the tourists didn't stray to close to her place. She lived alone. A peaceful life alone. Well.... Except.... This was all about to change.
