Ron sat at his porch, picking at the loose string hanging from his plaid flannel sleeve. He sighed; nothing was really happening today, so what else can he do? Sighing again, Ron played around with the loose thread.

The sounds of feet hitting against the pavement made him look up. It was Rick. He was strolling through, looking around, making sure nothings out of line. Ron huffed in annoyance and looked down at his lap. He pulled out his knife hanging on his belt and started to play around with it, as well as cutting that annoying string.

Once Rick was out of sight, Ron got up and slowly walked down the porch. It was days like this where he really didn't know what to do. Nothing was happening and it seems so peaceful. Quiet. It was a nice leisure day.

He ran a hand through his thick light brown-blonde hair. He decided to just walk along the pavement, opposite way from Rick of course. He didn't want to make any interaction with him anytime soon.

Ron began to wonder where Enid was. "Probably out the walls again," He scowled. He already told her multiple times to not go over the walls. But sometimes she was just a stubborn bitch. He hated to use that term, but the truth was that she is.

He stopped in his tracks to see Carl walking along the sidewalk not too far from him. Ron pursed his lips a little in annoyance, shaking his head. He didn't like Carl so much like he did before he just arrived here.

Ron's blood ran cold when Carl's eyes snapped to his. Ron didn't know how to react when this happened; when someone catches you looking at them. Carl stopped walking and tilted his head to the side in curiosity. He was probably confused as to why Ron was staring at him at a distance. Ron merely opened his mouth to try to answer but he just shook his head and walk back to his house.

He decided that he would want to sit along the fence in front of his house. Sitting down on the grass, he then started to toy around with his pocket knife. He wanted to forget that little awkward moment that just happened just a few seconds ago. He heard leaves being crunched under someone's feet. He looked up and a few yards away he can see Carl walking his direction.

"Fuck," Ron whispered under his breath. Why does Carl always have to make the smallest things into the biggest deal?

"Hey, you alright?" Carl said as he approached the blonde brown haired boy. "You were staring at me back there. Need to tell me something, or?"

"How about fucking off?" He snapped, making Carl frown.

"Okay, I know that you probably don't like me because of what my father has done to yours and-"

"Look, I don't want to hear anything from you okay, leave." Ron spoke.

"Look man, I saw you looking at me, I just wanted to know if everything's alright. You seemed... I don't know. But I just wanna make sure you're alright." Ron looked up at Carl. What the hell? Why the fuck is he caring about him for, Ron has no intentions on doing the same. Ron simply shrugged his shoulder and continued playing with his knife.

"Anyways, have you seen Enid? I couldn't find her." Carl's voice reached his ears. A small angry growl erupted from the back of his throat.

"Why do you want to see her?" Ron asked. Carl raised a brow.

"I mean like she just disappeared. Again. So I'm worried about her is all," Carl replied, his voice relaxed. Ron got annoyed by this.

"Well I'm guessing she went over the damn wall. She never listens to me when I tell her not to," Ron said, his voice bitter.

"Over the wall?" Carl asked. "I'm gonna go find her,"

This alarmed Ron all of a sudden. He's gonna go out there? He was probably gonna go get killed and eaten alive, wasn't there like a big herd of walking corpses going around Alexandria or something?

"No," Ron said, getting up. "I'm not letting you out there. You're gonna die. Plus, she always find her way back."

"And?" Carl said before turning around again. This angered Ron. Does he really think his words do not matter? In a small flash of anger, Ron pulled on Carl's hand.

"No! I'm not letting you out there. Either you're gonna die or people are gonna die trying to find you," Ron said. Carl pursed his lips. Ron looked at their hands, which were now holding. Ron quickly let go and took a step back.

"Fine. I gotta watch Judith anyways," And like that he's off to his own house.

Ron huffed. He turned to go back into his own house instead. He looked down at his hand, the one that touched Carl's. Carl's hand was a bit clammy and sweaty. Ron wanted to cringe. He held hands with that idiot. He actually wondered why he stopped him from going out there. He should've let him die. But he didn't. He looked down at his hand again.

Other than hatred, he felt something else. It was a mixture of... he doesn't know. Ron didn't know how else to explain it but a numb feeling. He doesn't know what it was, so he can only describe it as numb. Ron furrowed his eye brows in anger.

He's gonna have to wash his hands.
