Daniel Moore was having one hell of a night;

His future wife, Shea was cheating on him
For 3 years!

Even worse than that?

His best friend, Jeff Nance was the other guy.

He walked into the Bergman St. Pub to tie one on, and noticed there was a young, handsome fellow staring at him, grinning.

Daniel didn't really pay him much mind at first, until the third beer.

Why, do you ask?

Well, that's because the young man bought that particular beer for Daniel.

Daniel looked at the man, unsure of why the man would buy him a beer!

"Oh shit... What if he's queer, or something?" Daniel thought.

"Gonna have to let him down gently..."

He politely waved at the guy, and the fellow walked over.

"Hi, sorry I know it seems a bit...err...unorthodox for a straight man to buy a drink for another straight man, but I can tell you're having a rough day. Care to talk about it?"

The man asked.

"Not specifically, Guy. But I do appreciate the gesture. And because of that, I'll get your next one, how's that?"

Daniel answered, while chugging what remained of the beer.

"Ah, no need. I don't drink."

The stranger responded.

"Well, what did ya come here for? The lovely views?"

Daniel sarcastically asked.

"I'm here to...help! Yes! That's what it is, to help! My name is Malcolm Pierce, and you are?"

"Half-drunk, and pissed off. Please leave me be, Malcolm."

Daniel said, visibly frustrated.

"Ah...OK. Well I'll leave ya to it."

Malcolm said, almost dejectedly.

Daniel chugged the beer and decided to leave.

He looked at his cellphone, he had a new message from Shea, saying "plz don't do anything stupid! I still do care about you, Daniel!" The overwhelming feeling of anger almost made him throw the phone against the wall, but decided against it.

"Is she fucking serious?!" He screamed out loud to no one in particular. "Care about me? You stupid-" and stepped on his own shoestring and slipped onto the cement sidewalk. "Fuck!" He yelled in pain, hoping no one seen him.

He tried getting up,but felt woozy;

Sick, actually.

He fell flat on his face, and felt heavily sedated.

Before he blanked out, he saw a set of feet walking towards him.
