You know the feeling when you walk into a quite room and everyone's eyes shift you ? Like, you feel really uncomfortable and want to go cry in the corner? Yeah, that's how I feel right now. Not even two minutes into this new school and I want to go home and cry. Great start, right?
On the bright side, my locker number is 169, so I thought that was kind of great.
Oh look, there is people in front of my locker. I guess it's time to be social and ask them to move. Great.
"Uhm, excuse me. This is my locker and I kind of need in it. If you could shift like three steps to the left, that's be great." They just acted like there wasn't another living substance in front of them asking them to move. "I get I'm new, but acting like I don't exists isn't going to change the fact they you're standing in front of my locker. If you could kindly move three steps over, that would be fucking great." Now, I got their attention. See, I'm not totally invisible.
They looked at me with disgust and moved over. Thanks assholes. I can already tell this place is going to be a living hell. I haven't been here ten minutes and people are already looking at me like I don't belong. Great.
Maybe, just maybe, if I put my head down, walk really fast, and avoid eye contact with everyone, I won't somehow get myself into some type of awkward situation. That's a lie, I probably will anyway. I'm just an awkward human.
Shit, I don't know where my first period is. Wondering around the hallway for twenty minutes until I find room 102 is great, right?
Never mind, I found it.
Now, its time to do the "Hi my names Alex and I like to draw on my free time" bullshit. Oh look, I'm also ten minutes late. Yeah, defiantly going to get stared at when I walk in. Fantastic.
"A law in chemistry, the Law of Conservation of Mass, states, "In an ordinary chemical reaction, matter is neither created nor-" Well, its great that you actually showed up, Ms?"
"Mr. White. Alex White."
"Well Mr. White I am Mrs. Hemmings and welcome to your science class."
I just nodded my head and slowly walked to the back left corner of the class room. I like being in the back because not only does the teacher ignore your existence, but so does everyone else.
It's kind of like Cheshire Cat. You only make yourself noticed when you want too. It's like you're invisible and the only time you're actually seen is when you want to be seen. You have a choice whether you're noticed or not.
If you think about it, we're all like Cheshire Cat. Just like he was, everyone is off in their own reality. Not caring about anyone else but themselves. We're all grinning like idiots as the world crumbles around us, but we can't help but be amused by everyone's meaningless struggle to stay sane. But just like Cheshire the Cat said "We're all mad here." We all lose our sanity eventually and some sooner than others.
I feel a tap on my shoulder retrieve me from my thoughts and bring me back into a reality.
"Alex right? Hey, I'm Jessica. Sorry if I interrupted your thought process. I just wanted to say hi and if you need help with anything, find me. Oh! And, if you want, you can sit with me at lunch."
I turn around to see an adorable little human with the biggest smile. Her face isn't chubby, but it isn't slim either. She has light brown freckles going across her nose onto her cheeks, but the ones on her nose are covered up by her big framed glasses. She has light blue eyes, that remind you of the sky and you could get lost in. Her dirty blonde hair Is up in a messy bun on top of her head, reveling her tiny ears, with studded earrings in them. She's wearing a pastel pink, covering her neck and her arms, skinny jeans with little rips in them, and a pair of white converse.
"Uh, thanks, I guess"
As you can tell, I'm not much of a people person.
"Great! I'll find you after fifth period and we can walk to lunch together! What do you have?"
"Uh." I dig through my dag to find my schedule. It's al crinkled at the bottom of my bag, so I have to un-crinkle it. "I have art"
"Oh! I have choir, so I'll find you right after okay?"
"Okay."
I can already tell that we're complete opposites, but I can also tell that this is going to be an okay day.
//I've been home all day sick, so I decided to update. What do you guys think so far? What do you think about Jessica? Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy it and I'll have another update by the end of the week.~Madi//
