For the always wonderful 80sweirdo
Emma's POV
My feet hit the jagged ground at a steady pace. My legs straining, they wanted to me to stop. But I wouldn't! I kept going, my legs were on fire. My heart beat was hammering in my chest, sweat running down my face. It was like I was in the middle of a salty hurricane, but when I saw the finish line and took as deep of a breath as I could. The closer I got to the finish line the more my legs burned and my lungs and heart ached for a break. I was getting closer and started sprinting. I passed several people. When I reached the finish line I collapsed on the ground, my lungs pounded, my legs were on fire, heart still beating a mile a minute, and I almost threw up. I felt my head being picked up and put on someone's lap. I looked up to see a guy that goes to my school, his name was Sean. I liked him but I didn't think he liked me back but I guess I was wrong. Why else was he here helping me? "We're going to get you to the hospital! Here drink up." He handed me a water bottle and I drank it gratefully. I finished the bottle in less than two minutes. I started to feel like I was going to throw up, and guess what? I did. I scrambled onto my knees quickly and puked until I was dry heaving. Good thing my hair was in a ponytail.
They soon got me admitted to a hospital. I had to stay over night because I had heat exhaustion. I ran myself too hard. Sean stayed by my side which was weird, we didn't know each other to well. I wasn't going to kick him out. I'm not gonna lie, I really enjoy his company. He told me about some of his interests and I told him mine. I told him my dream of being in the army. He told me he wanted to be a professional football player. We talked until I fell asleep, he slept in the uncomfortable, unpadded hospital chair all night.
When I was checked out of the hospital he asked me on a date and I gladly accepted.
This was short and terrible
